Howard, I emailed Ron at HP and received a very detailed response, which I've copied below. I will plan on bringing an Avcon adapter for the ICS-200B station.gascant said:Yes, our host, Ron, made provisions last time for 4-6 outlets so members could charge. You can get a good 2-3 hours charge. I'll see if that will be available again. If you need a true L2 dock, Stevens Creek Nissan is very close. And, finally, there are several members that live close by that could offer their home dock/outlet to you.
Maybe slightly out of the way, there is a brand new ChargePoint station at 92/880. It's a little out of the way, but would work in a pinch on the way back.
ron.freund at hp.com said:There are three locations where charging can be done, (highlighted at A, B, C), mainly along the south side of the campus there are two 240 V sources with NEMA 14-50 connections. I have splitters for these so that four LEAFs can be charged at 120 V simultaneously from one such connection. So no need to bring many converters, we don’t want one car hogging the source for four. (We can do that since the breaker size is such it can handle two cars on a 120 V circuit.) Total accommodation: ~10 cars.
At (A): These are in the middle of the parking lot near a chainlink fence cage around a large transformer and breaker panel.
At (B): There is an old EVI MCS-100 connector that can provide either one 120 V or one 240 V connection on the south west corner of Bldg 46.
At (C): On the far west end of the campus there is an AVCON EVI box, an ICS-200B unit which provides only 208 to one car. If Mike Thompson brings his splitter that could power two more cars.
Hopefully everyone can read this. Follow the red line and then on foot to the side entrance where the meeting room is (red arrow).
Most everyone knows that HP has sold this campus to Apple, and therefore no new J-plugs are being installed here at this time.
