Saw this fellow on the highway this morning. I knew instantly he was a newbie due to the 2015. I thought for a moment that it might viral marketing by Nissan, but looking at the HOV lane video I can't for a second see Nissan's legal folks green-lighting content that contravenes CA's driving laws (hand-held camera use while driving). So I can only assume that it's some dude, massively late to the party, thinking he's some kind of "early-adopter/pioneer" (which, almost 5 years on at this point, is something that always sticks in my personal craw).

Edit: Ah...it's viral marketing by Tustin Nissan. That would make more sense:

Did anyone else notice on the last link: "THE ALL NEW 2014 LEAF"? What, pray tell, is all-new about the 2014 model? And why isn't it updated to say 2015?

There's quite a lot wrong with that page. And it's a good example of why Internet marketing and content delivery needs to be left to professionals with at least an obligation to keep it updated.

It's easy for those of us who waited eagerly for LEAF to launch, to lose sight of the reality that EVs really are a NEW and unfamiliar thing to the majority of the driving public. They may be dimly aware that EVs are on the road; may notice them occasionally in that carpool lane or sneer at a Tesla headline, but still consider them as odd and as rare as some type of alien artifact.
