What does a networked residential EVSE do for you?

The main purpose of an networked EVSE is to send data back up to the network about your charging, such as the BLink and the DOE Grant study. There are some other benefits; you can log into the unit remotely, etc. But passing data up to the mothership is the main deal...Otherwise, a non-networked unit is just fine....It's not like you have a publically available unit at your home that needs to report status or make reservations...
