Thought I'd share this new video of the ActiveE at the Geneva Motor Show.

If you have any questions about the car, the field trial, or anything else EV-related, please visit the [edit] Forum. The MINI E Pioneers there are always happy to share insights into their experience with the MINI E.

I heard it will be leasable ONLY at around $850 a month.
ridiculous price right along with what they put on the E-mini.

I sold my MBW 330 to get the Leaf....and boy, after driving my Leaf for a few months and seeing those analog gauges on the BMW.....I certainly do NOT miss those displays!!!

I would think that BMW would update it's dash to look and feel more 'modern' than relying on big, physical needles on the gauges.

Of course, maybe it's just me. ;)

Cool, Matt. Always interested in what is coming down the line. While the high lease prices and short term nature of the MiniE lease program kept me away, I loved the driving experience in the MiniE, and it helped me decide to look more closely at an EV for my garage. The ActiveE program should be fun to watch.

By the way, there is already a thread on the ActiveE

Another overweight BMW conversion. Can't "weight" to see the final curb weight. Inefficient Dynamics at it's best!

Here's the scoop on lease pricing for the BMW Active E test vehicles.

Short two year leases at $499/month with $2250 down. Much more reasonable than the $850/mo for the Mini E trials.

Pretty desirable, but still only a test project, and no, you can't buy one.

Note the hood bulge in the photos. Is that a power dome for a big carb and air intake on this beast? Nope, they probably had a hard time fitting the inverter under the hood and thought that a bulge would make it look cooler, so they went for it.

I kinda like the little 135. It's much better to have a dedicated EV platform but anything that manufactures more batteries is a very good thing.

its 700lb heavier than the regular version.. its RWD so regen will be compromised somewhat.

44kwh battery pack, 33kwh usable.

Ouch, that is efficient dynamics 33 kwh usable for the 100 miles, even real-world. I would like to see the wh/m figure. Something is telling me this is not an efficient EV by any measure but just another BMW stop gap. 44kw pack, wow.
