Cell Phone and Car Wings

I would like some input from people regarding their phone selection and satisfaction with Carwings.

I have to upgrade my phone but my vehicle is still months away. I am with Verizon and am pretty well locked in with them. They have announced a change to their data plan pricing. They are going away from an unlimited $30/ month to something new, (I would assume some type of multi tier service based no usage) but haven't announced specifics.

Question #1- Which phone have users been satisfied with?

Question #2- How much 'data' does Carwings 'use'. Will checking it (a showing it off) likely require more than a basic tier?

I am satisfied with Samsung Galaxy BUT my advice is to use whatever phone you want on whatever carrier you want. Remote features are not so demanding. Basic browser will do. Data usage looks very small. I will try to measure it somei time.
