The map in my June 2012 Leaf is the current map, but is already about 2 years out of date (it is missing some new interstate freeway in my area among other errors). Nissan promises to update every 12 - 18 months at $100 - $150 an update. This is a bad idea on two counts:
1. the competition updates MUCH more frequently (Garmin does 3-4 updates a year)
2. the pricing is outrageous. I paid $60 two years ago to get updates forever on a Garmin.
Nissan needs to keep up with the competition or there will be lots of people driving Leafs with aftermarket GPS units mounted on the dashboard.
