Purchased a 2014 leaf, and a driver in my household totaled it 6 days later.
I'm looking very seriously at a 2015 SV with <10,000 miles, a personal lease return from GA, and offered for sale @ a Nissan dealer in Wash DC. My only problem with it is that the VIN number appears much lower than the VIN on my previous 2014! The CarFax report shows it being manufactured in the spring of 14, and put on the road in late July of 14. Sooooooo....wouldn't that be a 2014?!

Hopefully the person driving your Leaf was not hurt in the crash.

The 2014 model year is an abbreviated one. Nissan introduced the 2015 model early to signify that it has the new "lizard" battery chemistry that is supposedly more heat tolerant.

Have you looked it up on VINdecoder.net?

The 10th character in the VIN is the year, the whole number itself doesn't mean anything. E = 2014, F = 2015. The delivery date is the important thing as that is when the warranty is calculated from.
