If you are unable to find anyone to come up with the money, then find someone to set up a 501(c)3 non-profit and ask for donations (or find an existing EV group that will handle the donations). As long as the non-profit can use the revenue for the promotion of EV use and infrastructure I am willing to donate a small amount. 1,000 people donating $50 each still will get you $50,000. How much do you need?
If nothing else, this trip shows the need for charging stations every 25 to 30 miles along major roads and freeways.
