    1st Leaf

I haven't contacted any museums yet, as I'm trying to get a sense for what to expect first.

    1st Leaf

It's been many years... And I still have my Leaf (the first one sold), but I haven't been using it at all for quite a few years now. I don't want to sell it (yet) but was wondering if maybe a museum would be interested in displaying it. I don't have any experience in that regard, and what to...

rear-ended, advise on repair + HOV sticker?

so far, so good. it's been about 4 months. I'd recommend that you start un-peeling them from the rear, that way the wind will not unstick them more (the corner where you start will not come perfectly, and you'll leave some glue on the old bumper).

rear-ended, advise on repair + HOV sticker?

I got rear-ended as well. The shop managed to peel my stickers from the bumper (using a heat gun from the other side), and glue them back on my new bumper. You have to wait for the paint to cure on your new bumper, and you need to re-apply your stickers as soon as you peel them off the old one...

Full charge on Coulomb charger, but not on supplied charger?

full charge and displayed mileage are only somewhat related. If you have traffic going TO work, then you'll get a better mileage, and at full charge, the LEAF will display more remaining miles. If you have less going TO home, and you drive faster, you'll get a worse mileage, and so on. Could...

Poll : Will Volt "sales" top Leaf "sales" in Sept ?

To be back on the main topic ... As of Sep 14th, Nissan was at "almost 7,000 LEAFs on the streets in the US, and more than 12,000 in the world"

    LEAF paint....soooooo thin!

Apparently it's not just the LEAF, and yes the paint goes off very easily.

The Nissan Leaf is a very reliable and well constructed car

8300 miles, and no problem so far. Got my first battery check a couple weeks ago, an it's still in great conditions according to Nissan. However I've had to drive 80 miles yesterday, and with A/C on part of the time I made it home with 0 bars (from 100% in the morning) driving at reasonable...

    Leaves in the Wild

I saw 6 Tuesday evening. 4 on the highway which were going 101 north between San Mateo and mountain view (I was driving south), 1 on rengstorff, right before I pulled in my driveway, and an other one on rengstorff at about 9:30 pm on my way back from picking a ladder at a friend's place. I...

I actually like my AV EVSE

My AV EVSE hasn't failed once in more than 6 months of usage. It seems to be very reliable, so a definitive +1.

Ghosn : Battery capacity to double within 4-5 years

He did say that lithium batteries would likely dominate for the next ten year. So this new battery would still be lithium based.

Ghosn : Battery capacity to double within 4-5 years

Last Monday, I got invited to Ghosn's talk at Stanford, and during the Q&A sessions, he said that he was expecting battery capacity to double within 4-5 years. Seems like both a pretty bold statement, and a very exciting one. He even mentioned that between R&D and actual product at scale, you...

Renault-Nissan IT dev center in the Bay Area

http://nissannews.com/pressrelease/2565/1/renault-nissan-alliance-opens-silicon-valley-research-office Sounds likes really smart move to me given how many early adopters and engineers are here.

Was on the Final Bar but consumption was only 15.8 kwh

My point was mostly that you can perfectly use less kWh that you need to recharge. Driving in eco with lower speeds and slow acceleration will likely result in the "used" kWh to match closer the amount you put back in the pack.

Was on the Final Bar but consumption was only 15.8 kwh

You can't measure electricity used by looking at how much you put back in the pack. If you drive aggressively, you're also discharging the battery at higher currents, which reduces its effective capacity. So you could very well empty your battery by getting only 16kWh out of it, and you'll still...
