Dead 2016 Leaf SL This Morning - Plugged In and -25°F

I thought I would give an update, as too many threads seem to stop without any sense of closure. :D Got home from work around 6:30 this evening and was curious on how the Leaf would behave after some time in the sun and a little warming to -10°F. I was prepared to pull out the 12V charger...

it's turtles all the way down, at -13F

Vær så god, specialgreen! I think you would be fine just driving it, as long as you don't drive on a freeway or in high power situations right away. This only happens once in a blue moon anyway - at least in SE Wisconsin. I always drive in ECO mode as well, but that would also likely help...

Dead 2016 Leaf SL This Morning - Plugged In and -25°F

Thanks leaf16 and OrientExpress. I will try that this evening when I get back from work. The battery is less than 3 years old, and drive the car almost every day, so I did not expect a problem with the 12V battery. It's also only supposed to be -5°F tonight, so that should help a bit. Jason

Dead 2016 Leaf SL This Morning - Plugged In and -25°F

My car started fine yesterday with a similar low temperature, but for some reason, the car would not initiate this morning and seemed to be throwing multiple errors. Car was plugged in last night and was driven yesterday as well. When I parked last night at 6pm, it had 4 temperature bars and I...

it's turtles all the way down, at -13F

My 2016 Leaf SL did the same yesterday morning, with the turtle mode coming on when I initially started the car. Low was -25°F last night and it was of course plugged in all night. Anyway, when I took off it was just in reduced power mode for the first few miles and I gradually gained bubbles...

2018 Leaf SV Front Wiper Stopped Working!

Yes, I noticed this too that the return action of the wiper into the parked position seemed to kill it with no room to push the snow and ice anywhere. I would push a bit on the dealer if you are not satisfied with the resolution, as your wiper failure occurred under somewhat normal driving...

2018 Leaf SV Front Wiper Stopped Working!

I had a very similar experience with my 2016 Leaf this weekend, except that instead of ice, a 10" pile of snow from the roof broke loose at a stoplight. Not just some snow - ALL of the snow on top of the roof. This completely wrecked the wipers, which were on the intermittent setting at the...

Sudden Turtle Mode in Very Cold Weather

Got the Leaf back from the dealer this afternoon. In short, they could not find anything wrong with the car. Each of the individual cell voltages checked out fine and there were no codes stored. They offered to keep the car overnight to see if they could replicate the problem, but I declined...

Sudden Turtle Mode in Very Cold Weather

Yes, the car was charged to 100% last night and was then unplugged. Leaf Spy reading was taken when I dropped it off at the dealer this morning with approximately 65% showing on the dash meter.

Sudden Turtle Mode in Very Cold Weather

I was able to run Leaf Spy this morning right when I got to the dealer this morning. Attached is the battery test and summary screen. Is it fair to assume there is a problem with the first cell with it's color a dark red?

Sudden turtle at 55% SOC -2F

I had nearly the identical situation happen to me as well yesterday morning, and have a thread going here: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=25071 Taking it to the dealer tomorrow morning to see what they find. Not super happy about the issue, but hopefully it is an easy fix...

Sudden Turtle Mode in Very Cold Weather

I have an appointment will the dealer tomorrow morning, so I will update this thread once I have more information. Not wanting a repeat performance of yesterday's erratic battery performance, I did leave the car plugged in overnight with similar temperatures of around -8°F. It seemed fine on...

Sudden Turtle Mode in Very Cold Weather

Thanks - yes, probably a good idea and have the OBDII adapter on order. I really hope that it is not a cell issue, and the car has not had any issues until this very cold morning. I don't know if this helps, but when I used the Nissan app the previous evening, it showed the SOC at 57%. When...

Sudden Turtle Mode in Very Cold Weather

On the way to work this morning, I had the car go into turtle mode rather suddenly while accelerating up a moderate incline. Ambient temperature was about -7°F. At the time that this occurred, the percentage of charge was about 40% and was nowhere near a LBW or VLBW. It did recover partially...

    Post Your Order Details Here

Lease was up on my 2013 Leaf SL in September, in which I elected to extend for 6 months. I originally was planning on going with the Bolt, but didn't think it would be ready in the Great Lakes region by March 2017 when I was required to turn in the car and was still a bit uncomfortable ordering...
