FYI - I put on 4 Blizzaks yesterday at Costco after I noticed that I could start to see the threads on my one bad tire. I'll try to find a couple of used Ecopias so when I return my car when the lease is up it will at least have 4 serviceable tires.
I had the same one and brought the car in over lunch yesterday. My understanding is it was completely a software update. I was a little annoyed that afterwards that a bunch of settings were changed or reset on my car and they didn't tell me. Very glad I noticed when I plugged in that my...
Thanks for the responses Brock and dgp.
I've tried to keep mine at 40psi, but may not have been as deligent as I should have been. My car has 35k miles, but only 2 of the original tires remain. 1 was replaced at around 5k miles due to a nail in the sidewall and another around 12k miles...
Haven't read through the entire thread, but very good discussion.
I'm looking for some advice - I'm in a situation where I have a leased 2013 SV, with the lease up in March of 2016. My plan is start watching for good lease deals on a 2016 or a great lease deal on a 2015 starting in December...
Great discussion and thanks for everyone sharing what they know.
I apologize as this question has probably been answered somewhere in the 35 pages, but is there a release date (official or otherwise) yet for the 2016?
I extended my 2 year lease on the 2013 an extra year until March, 2016...
I really thought it was interesting that on Tuesday I really saw a strange drop at the beginning of my day, and when I can in here to post there was another poster that had the same thing happen. On that day, I dropped from 79% down to 59% (20% drop) in my first 13 miles. Since then I have...
I am seeing very similar behavior. I have the charger set to charge to 80% and be done at 6:30am. I leave home at about 7:00am and the %charge is 79%. Within the first mile it will drop to about 76% and then down to 74% in the next mile. After this, the rate of drop is right about 1mi/1%...
Thanks for this data point. -22F is about as cold as it will get here, so it is good to know what to expect before running climate control.
We've had about a week now where it has been between -10 and 5F....I've gotten in some good learning. Mostly I wish I could set the climate control...
Winter is underway in Minneapolis. Since Thursday morning we have around or below zero (F). This morning it was -7F. Observations -
1. Pre-warming the car even with it plugged in cost me 2%. I think the climate control is taking more than the charger can deliver? I should be able to avoid...
FWIW...Last week I got some very nice results on my 2 month old 2013 SV.
Best day was on Thursday....
Day started out at 45deg and 100% charge. After pre-heating the cabin, Idrove the just under 30 miles to drop my son off at school and then onto work. Mostly highway averaging around...
I was thinking through this situation the other day....what I think would make the most sense is an automatic override if the car is plugged in at less than 25% (or something similar). Once the car is charged to this number the override stops and defaults to whatever the current timer mode is...
At the risk of drifting further off topic...did not Tesla just announce a profit? I saw something in passing and that is what I thought I had read...
Back on topic....curious what the OP ended up doing. Based on my experience in Minneapolis I would say he is a great candidate for a Leaf. I...
Going back to the original question...comparing the efficiency of the leaf to biking ->
Based on what Wikipedia says about the power required to bike, we can calculate the miles/kWh for a bicycle. According to Wiki, with a 300 Watt output, a 150lb person can propel a bike at a constant 9.3mph...
Took a look at plugshare...there is a Nissan dealer 4 miles from the airport that would have a level 2 station...you could see if they would let you stop by after your trip and charge up...or look into buying your car from them and working out a deal.
