I guess no one has heard of this issue at all? Ideally the rear defroster will go on when the climate timer is warming up the car, to get rid of the stuff on the rear window.

Does the EV Duty give you an error code? I had an issue with my EV Duty charger and the issue was burnt connections inside the plug on the charger causing high resistance and stopping the charge. See this thread https://mynissanleaf.com/threads/ev-duty-burnt-contacts.35573/
