2012 LEAF to the Dealer Yesterday for Work

Good luck with whatever you decide. If we had to replace our Leaf at the moment, we would probably get a Bolt. I had got lucky when our first battery finally died Nissan was clearing out old batteries in Jan 20, and got it done for around 7K in San Diego. Had to fight with the service rep...

is it time to scrap my Nissan leaf?

Our 2011 battery failed at 70k. We had internal resistance error codes that I saw with Leafspy. I would think you have the same problem. Good luck, it's an expensive repair however you go about it. There are several threads discussing the process, like this one below. We got lucky with a...

Tortoise mode in Hawaii after key fob programmed

I imagine you don't have multiple dealers to choose from. You certainly did not need a new key fob, just a new button cell inside it, unless it was damaged somehow, or you lost one. Our son put ours through the laundry last week and it's still fine. Also, your replacement traction battery is...

Need help deciding the future of my LEAF.

Have you looked at the VW ID.4? Very reasonable price, plus you get the full warranty and the tax credits. It will take a while to receive, but any new car will now, unless you're paying a dealer premium.

    2012 battery capacity, unusual range?

Looks like a 10 mile test drive will tell you everything you need to know. Sounds like a bad idea.

    No heat

There is also the control panel mod, where the heat only comes on if the AC is on, or if the rear defrost is on.

    Leaf as short tripper

I found my last log file from before the battery fault. It is about 6 - 8 weeks before. The values I see are GIDs 131 SOC 95 SOH 46.6 Hx 25.04 Odo (km) 114633 (71,230 miles)

    Leaf as short tripper

We used our original battery from 2011 until the IR caused the big red battery light in Jan 2020. Did not try to see how much longer we could go in that condition, just got lucky that batteries were discounted at that time, or the car would have been donated or scrapped. Range at the end was...

    Leaf as short tripper

My wife and I went for years on our failing Leaf battery (one month past warranty replacement) in SD, with her 15 mile round trip commute. Even enough to get to the Y after work, max 30 miles in a day. We would get about 10k per year on the car, and with our solar system on the annual billing...

2015 Nissan Leaf SV- reasonable price?

That sounds reasonable to me. I had just posted about a car with about 30 miles range for $10k, which is ludicrous (espescially since there was another with higher range for $5k on the same site). Definately read up on the used Leaf buying guide viewtopic.php?f=27&t=26662&p=538030

Why would anyone buy a nissan leaf right now???

Had a good laugh at this one: 2013 with 27 miles range for $10k (picture 12). Same site lists another with 40 miles range and 13k fewer miles for $5k. I guess you at least know the battery wasn't reset...

Poll : Number of miles before losing the first bar

In the US, I received the same warranty on my replacement battery as the original. Mine went one month out of warranty, and we had to pay the full amount. Would have got rid of the car, except Nissan had a sudden discount on batteries that made it worthwhile. It has been a year and a half, and...

2011 Leaf OCS sensor failing, class action

I have the same issue on my 2011. I purchased one of the sensor bypass plugs for around $10. Works fine, just need to keep the seat belt connected.

clicking sound near rear seat drivers side headrest

You can lock a fob in the car with the other fob, or with the mechanical key. The external unlock buttons do not recognize it. I do it all the time when Im swimming.
