New 2015 S with strange LeafSpy numbers

I was looking at different ways to chart my leafspy data, and I noticed a correlation that seems to confirm the theme I have been noticing on the forum; that the 2015 battery likes to be driven more. It's not a perfect match, but it does seem to at least roughly follow the peaks and valleys...

Wait time for California DMV carpool stickers?

A month ago, I got mine in a little over a month; plates arrived Oct 29th and I immediately sent out the decal application. The decal showed up Dec 3rd.

Degradation on Brand New 2015 SV

Well there goes that theory. It sounds like you're pretty much the opposite of everything I was thinking might cause those sort of readings on a new 2015. On a typical charge I'll see around 20.5 kWh, +/- .5 kWh; this morning, for example, I had 20.8 kWh (with the SOH up to 92% from 90%). The...

San Francisco Bay Area Quick Chargers Getting them sooner

I was watching reports of that station being installed going into Plugshare and was quite happy to see that. The Whole Foods down the street is always packed during peak times, sometimes with multiple cars waiting (And EV drivers parking in the handicapped spots because they are next to the...

Degradation on Brand New 2015 SV

Your numbers look very similar to mine. (MFG date 9/2014, purchase date 10/2015.) My SOH has been bouncing around between 90 and 94 for the most part since I started measuring it at 800 miles, and at 3000 miles it hasn't really changed that pattern. I've been doing primarily L1 charging and...

    2015: Battery Data Report @ 100% Charge

I may be wrong but my understanding is that LeafSpy is not determining anything, it's just reporting what the BMS claims to be the battery stats. It's possible the BMS in the 2015 is a bit different; perhaps more adaptable to battery conditions, hence willing to move things up and down as...

    SOH value jumping around.

Images should be fixed; though aside from showing the cell balance they don't give anything more than what's in the spreadsheet. Yes, under 2500 miles; I've had this car for about 3 months now. Usually I do L1 charging only, the QCs are for the occasional longer trip where there's no convenient...

New 2015 S with strange LeafSpy numbers

Most times I charge it is to full; and I only record the battery stats after charging to full. It's not every day, but that's because many days I only go a handful of miles.

Bay Area <--> LA EV trip feasible???

Revising this old post, is this more feasible now? Looking at plugshare, it looks like you can ALMOST make it all the way on DCFC using either 101 or 99. Along 101, getting to Salinas by DCQC is easy. But from there, there's nothing until SLO, which is 130 miles, and no good midway charging...

New 2015 S with strange LeafSpy numbers

You're right that efficiency wise it's not worth the cost. With the price I pay to charge overnight, it is basically $5 lost per thousand miles to charging overhead of L1 over L2. There are a few times I'd like to get more of a charge than I can squeeze into the low cost TOU rate time at L1...

    SOH value jumping around.

I keep all the data in a spreadsheet, and typically save screenshots for recording in the spreadsheet later... Battery spreadsheet. AHr and Hx move together with SOH. I haven't done a lot of screenshots besides after a full charge, but at a full charge, that is about typical as far as cell...

    SOH value jumping around.

On my 2015 S, I see SOH readings everywhere from 92% up to 97%. The AHr reading tracks rather closely with it as well, where SOH is roughly round(AHr/62.44, 0.01) My numbers: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20692&start=20#p445383 At least one other person with a 2015 has seen...

Unable to turn "Charging timer" on (Leaf S)

Just a shot in the dark... Probably something you already know about/did but just double checking. Did you set the clock? There's two clocks in the S model which are, annoyingly, not synchronized. There's the entertainment system clock, then there's the clock you set on the dash panel. Maybe...

New 2015 S with strange LeafSpy numbers

Similar here... Bought beginning of September this year, later looked at the MFG date and it was September last year. Got LeafSpy after a month, so already had 800+ miles on it by first measure. 10/25 - SOH: 93% AHr: 58.14 10/27 - SOH: 93% AHr: 57.76 10/30 - SOH: 92% AHr: 57.67 11/2 - SOH: 93%...

How far to let it go down?

In general, the battery chemistry of the leaf is happiest in the middle of the charge range doing shallow cycles, something like 30% to 80% SOC. Keeping the charge in that range has some theoretical benefit to battery longevity. So ideal would be charge it to 80%, run down about to about 30%...
