Just lost a bar this morning

For the last few months my LEAF has only been charging to 75% when set to 80% charging and my gidmeter showed I was close to losing a bar. This morning was one of the days I had a 100% charge queued up and when I pinged the car via AutoFlugel I noticed the car was "109% charged" so I loaded up...

Electric drive vehicle credit 8936 decreased/rejected by IRS

Is 4/1 when you filed initially or filed the additional to get the full return? The IRS is supposed to contact you in 45 days if to do nothing other than to ask for an additional 45 days (went through 2 rounds of 45 days myself). If they haven't I would send certified mail and call to get status...

    DFW Metroplex

Stanton has the SOC meter till next Wednesday 6/6/12. Trying to get a baseline with a few 80% and 100% charges over the course of a week and then do the same with his car after the summer to see if there is any significant drop. I also PM'd a few other people about getting the SOC meter to them too.

How should Nissan respond to dropping capacity?

The issue isn't just in Arizona. My LEAF only has 11,800 miles on it and I only charge to 80% but I have lost capacity as well. 100% charge only gives me 247 gids now with 80% only going to 208 gids.

12% capacity loss in 9 months is "normal"

Hahaha, makes you wonder. My wife reminded me she had issues with them years ago when she brought her Frontier in for some warranty issue. Suffice to say I am glad I did not buy my LEAF there. Only took the LEAF there today because it was the closest dealership. It is due for the 12 month...

12% capacity loss in 9 months is "normal"

Wow, wish we had that here. I went to pick up my car and the sheet they gave me just said they rotated the tires so I went and spoke to the service manager at Nissan of McKinney and was told the battery check was included in the 11 point inspection. I mentioned that isn't the case and this is...

12% capacity loss in 9 months is "normal"

To add my data my LEAF, #2192 was delivered June 2nd 2011, right around 12 months ago and has just over 11k miles on it. I had been only charging to 80% until I noticed recently the car was only charging to 75% with Carwings. I confirmed this with my GID SOC meter (which showed 74% 208 gids). I...

    80% Charge only 9 bars?

You are right, another 3 bars down this morning. So yeah if this keeps up I will have a brick by mid-August. 100 charge on carwings: 87.9% on SOC meter, 247gids I park outside during the day, covered if I can find it but seeing 7 bars for battery temp during Spring/Summer is typical. I will go...

    80% Charge only 9 bars?

Agreed, it is just unnerving but then again it is part of being an early adopter. Hopefully the loss will slowdown otherwise the car won't have much range in another 2 years.

    80% Charge only 9 bars?

Yes I am in Dallas, Texas. I park my LEAF overnight in our garage which as of last year is air conditioned to ~80 degrees. I will be tracking by %/# of gids daily.

    80% Charge only 9 bars?

My numbers today after charging to 100%: 100% charge on the vehicle / 88.9% on the gidmeter/ 250 Gids Guess I will check daily and see if I too am using 3-4 per charge cycle :(

    80% Charge only 9 bars?

Also just to clarify should be "80%" because the timer is set to 80% but it stops charging at 75% according to Carwings and the SOC meter shows 74%.
