Big problem with Type 2 charging

Have your charge delay timers been activated in the past? The delay timers work for L1 and L2, but don't affect L3. If when you plug in you don't get one light blinking (the same light), but all three lights blinking one after the other, that tells you that the EVSE is properly plugged in and...

No Charge to Charge Just Charged Me

Here in Atlanta all Georgia Power charging stations are on the ChargePoint network. I can use my NCTC card to authenticate on those, but I get a very clear message in the beginning stating that this particular station will charge me. Maybe something similar is happening to you? Next time look...

    Intro and Question

You can upgrade your Nissan-supplied trickle charging cable (http://www.EvseUpgrade.com, $287) and get an L15-30P to L6-30R adapter: Something similar to http://www.stayonline.com/detail.aspx?id=40214 I don't know about three-phase either.

How far to let it go down?

The IOS version of LeafSpy works with a WiFi OBDII adapter, not Bluetooth. Right?

Please change title to "Ask for QC @ atlanta hartsfield airport" or something like that. I thought it was an announcement.

    Charging while Renting

Have you signed a lease yet? I heard all Post properties in Atlanta will have charging stations in common areas, free, "as an amenity for renters." You can call them to find out how soon and how they will be managed.

Frequent use of CHAdeMO DCQC Killing 2015 Leaf Battery?!

Is the SOH steadily going down, or just the worse cases? What about the best cases? I imagine some variability is OK as long as the trend is not downwards.

Frequent use of CHAdeMO DCQC Killing 2015 Leaf Battery?!

After about 6 months, at the moment I have: SOC=71.6% AHr=64.38 SOH=100% odo=13,108 mi 61 QCs & 488 L1/L2s I wonder which one is more representative, mine or yours? Should I take another reading at SOC=100%?

How many different EVs have you seen in a normal day's driving?

I'm in Atlanta. On a work day, I see at least 15 Leafs. A Volt or i3 every other day, a Tesla once a week. This, on a 24 mile commute (each way).

Just camped 1 night in my Nissan Leaf

You could get a hatchback tent that 'connects' to the Leaf. That way, you can air-condition the whole tent. See thread http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=3893&p=195819&hilit=camping+tent#p195819.

Commercial EVSEs: Is there a reliability/viability problem?

I live in Atlanta, and I couldn't be happier with public EVSE availability: 30+ DC/QCs around town, and more newly installed every month. Long term, however, I see a problem: Some units have a high failure rate, or maintenance is poor, or the companies running them have serious performance...

Doing things better the second time around

I forgot to mention, in Atlanta I get HOV lane access and free Peach Pass (express lane) access. Too bad they killed the state tax credit, but there's talk of bringing it back.

Doing things better the second time around

I started off trying to maximize efficiency and range. Two years later, with charging stations at home and work, and over 30 QC/DC stations around Atlanta, I've settled down to enjoy a comfortable, quiet ride comparable to that of a luxury sports sedan. My commute is just 48 miles round trip.

Doing things better the second time around

I actually went for this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F5EAXAS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Doesn't fit quite as well, but it is about half the price of the other one. For the other one, select the "Hatchback" style.

Doing things better the second time around

Hopefully. I recently ended a 2-year lease and purchased a new 2015 S Leaf. This time around I know a few things I didn't two years ago: - I am using delayed charging. The "End charge timer" in the S trim is all you need. I used to charge as soon as I got home, 'just in case.' No need to do...

EVSE Upgrade, or convert HCS-40 to HCS-40P?

The JESLA is just like the Tesla: I wish I had the money. It is exactly what I need. I just heard from Clipper Creek: Modifying the HCS-40 may void the warranty and makes it rated for indoor use only. So, the EVSE Upgrade is looking better. I wish the JESLA was available two years ago, when I...

EVSE Upgrade, or convert HCS-40 to HCS-40P?

Eventually I will do the EVSEUpgrade. But for now, as a one-time thing, it is going to cost me less and I will be able to take advantage of my 6.6 kW OBC. The HCS-40 should not be plugged to a 14-30 outlet, right? Only 14-50.

EVSE Upgrade, or convert HCS-40 to HCS-40P?

I understand that the requirements are different for a permanent connection vs. one using a plug. If the EVSE's own wiring needs upgrading (like from #8 to #6), I hope I can do it without much trouble. I'll check with CC's customer support, just in case. Maybe they can sell me a pigtail plug to...
