Details about the new 30 kWh pack

Nissan has said it would physically fit, but there are "other" problems with making it work (I assume BMS connections/software). In other words they don't want to.

    Geogia rebates

That's the way to go in GA right now. In fact, if you can hold off, the price of a used '13/'14 will probably drop off even more with the official release of the 2016.

Found a 2012 Leaf with ? bars (auction cars with inaccurate listings)

There is a picture of the dash: It has all the capacity bars. I think they're looking at the battery temperature bars and reporting that.

    2016 Nissan LEAF Information - 30 kWh SV/SL, 24 kWh S

For the US, I think September slipped out in one of the PRs, but was quickly retracted.

    2016 Nissan LEAF Information - 30 kWh SV/SL, 24 kWh S

There's definitely some shenanigans. The current LEAF gets about 3.7 mi/kWh based on usable pack capacity and an 84 mile range. Even if the entire 30kWh was usable (which it won't be), they'd need to increase efficiency 12% (which they can't) to hit a rating of 125 miles of range.

    Chevrolet Bolt & Bolt EUV

I can't get my head around the scale. It looks like a tiny car, but then I see the license plate bracket and it throws off my assumptions.

    2016 Nissan LEAF Information - 30 kWh SV/SL, 24 kWh S

Alcoa/Phinergy still claim their Al-air battery will be in a production car in 2017. A 300-400 mile range Al-air "range extender pack" that can be quickly swapped out at a nissan dealer in addition to a 200 mile Li-ion range would be pretty cool.

    2016 Nissan LEAF Information - 30 kWh SV/SL, 24 kWh S

That's an interesting question. If you look at the Model S 60 vs 85, that was $175/mi and they sold tons more 85s than 60s, then again there was also a sizeable performance difference too, not to mention this is a luxury segment. If we came up with a mythical 124mi range LEAF vs an 84mi LEAF...

What is up with this non-cupholder center console pocket?

How many cup holders does this car need?

What is your guess for Gen 2 Leaf ?

I'm sure Gen2 will put a large emphasis on aerodynamics, motor efficiency, and component consolidation. For that reason, I think we'll see (EPA range): S - 30kWh (~110 mi range) SV/SL 42kWh (~160 mi range) Infiniti LE 60kWh (~210 mi range)

    2016 Nissan LEAF Information - 30 kWh SV/SL, 24 kWh S

I wonder if the SV and SL will also get a bump in HP. I know different chemistries have different power densities, but if the new battery does have similar C ratings, the 2016 could be 100kW (134hp), if the power electronics can also handle it. It could also mean stronger regen, which might...

    2016 Nissan LEAF Information - 30 kWh SV/SL, 24 kWh S

I'll theorize that the 24kWh packs are a way for them to get rid of any inventory of the old chemistry while they transition to the new chemistry.

    Latest lease deals in Georgia

My understanding is that you need to take possession of the vehicle by june 30 to get the rebate. My opinion is to take the 2 year lease. At the end of the 2 years, especially if 150 or 200 mile range LEAFs/Bolts are available, Nissan will give you some favorable options to hold on to your...

When will Nissan announce details of the next-gen Leaf

There is a chance for #3, because Nissan pitched the $100/mo battery replacement plan as being the latest battery chemistry at the time. If they truly stand behind that promise, it means they have to engineer a plan to put the new cells in the existing battery box anyway. More than likely this...

HELP.. Georgia Tax Increases imposed on electric vehicles

I mean $5k 2 years ago and $5k this year. I won't debate you on what is fair or unfair, just stating that I'm fat and happy right now in regards to state taxes, even with an annual not-gas tax. From what I heard, this tax credit was always a gamble for GA. ATL and Macon exceeded some air...

HELP.. Georgia Tax Increases imposed on electric vehicles

I've just taken the state for $10k, making it nearly free for me to drive for the last 2 years and the next 2 years. If they want $200/yr, fine... it'll take 50 years at that rate to break even with me.

    Will a 2011 leaf charge 31 miles in 11 hours on 120V?

Disclaimer: I don't have and never did have a 2011 w/ or w/o a degraded battery, but I don't think that should affect charging rate, especially at 110V. Your breakdown of high speed vs "city" driving is close to what I do on my commute and I get about 3.8mi/kWh and when I was charging on a 110V...

Concept tire could charge electric cars.

That's an interesting consideration. On an ICE, it's cost would be compared to fuel savings and it would likely never be worth it. In the case of a BEV, it's different. If this device could recoup 1kWh over 80 miles, then it's worth the price of another kWh of battery capacity (~$300).

Concept tire could charge electric cars.

All the energy used to push the car down the road eventually converts to heat. Forcing air to move around your car requires energy because you need to push those little air molecules around, they eventually come to rest because of friction... which gives off heat. The friction between the car...
