Are you planning to reserve Tesla Model 3 ?

I own a 2015 LEAF and am a very soon to be Model X owner (confirmed in 12/2015 so will be considered an owner for Model 3 priority). I originally wasn't going to put a deposit on a Model 3 because I expect my LEAF to last until 2020-2022. However I realized that is with my current home...

Help. I need confirmation if my dealer just cheated me.

Did the dealer tell you the vehicle had been manufactured more recently? If not I can't see how you were screwed. They advertised a 2015 model and you purchased it. You could have checked the manufacture date before purchasing. If they sold you a 2014 model advertised as a 2015 that would be...

    Lease assumption

Why would they change their policy? They've taken the risk on the original lessee, did a credit check, etc. That sale has already been made and the lessee is responsible for the remaining payments. Why take a risk and have to do a new credit check and take a chance on a new person? Not to...

    Do you plan to buy/lease 30kWh MY16 Leaf ?

Where is the buying a Model X option? I chose waiting for Model 3 because it was the closest, and I might replace my 2015 LEAF with a Model 3 eventually.

    Do you plan to buy/lease 30kWh MY16 Leaf ?

Because the current 2015 is also selling well below MSRP. I bought a 2015 base SV for $25,000 plus tax. That's $7,100 below MSRP, I get the $7,500 federal credit, and I also get $5,000 back from Georgia. Tax included the vehicle is only costing me $15,000. I won't have to deal with the...

I am lookiing for Lease take over

Anyone who has a lease should keep in mind that NMAC doesn't allow the lease to be completely taken over, the original lessee will always still be liable if the new lessee fails to make payments or damages the vehicle.

Is Georgia EV tax rebate reported as taxable income?

Any state tax refund you received in 2014 will be taxable on your 2014 federal taxes if you itemized your deductions in 2013 (and deducted your state income taxes). You should have received a 1099-G for this.

HELP.. Georgia Tax Increases imposed on electric vehicles

Doesn't matter where you purchase, if you register the car in Georgia you will pay TAVT on it, and the $200 annual EV registration fee.

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

Just replaced my 2013 LEAF SL which was coming up on the end of my 24 month lease at the beginning of June. The Georgia $5,000 tax credit is likely going away soon so the dealers in the area seem to be keen on clearing their inventory. I got what I felt to be a pretty good deal for a base SV...

    PeachPass Question for GA Members

    1. No special pass but you do have to call the Peach Pass people and let them know you have an AFV tag so they can put your pass in non-toll mode (and not get charged for having fewer than 3 people). This isn't really applicable to LEAFs, but if you had a Tesla or were very adventurous in your...

    Wife looking at a Leaf

What sort of speeds will she drive those 31 miles? In the winter in the Atlanta area unless she is driving <55mph she will likely need to take advantage of the work L2. During better weather she should be able to make the roundtrip just fine for the first 2-3 years. The LCS-25 will work fine...

Take That BMW VW: 1000 new Quick Chargers

The fact that many of them will be run by third party networks like NRG eVgo will be great (mentioned at the bottom of the article), because there won't be the problems with dealers running them where they are abused because they are free, dealers chase off non-LEAFs or even people who didn't...

Consumer Reports says to avoid the Mitsubishi i- MiEV

Pretty much any compliance car makes my list of "Cars to avoid". I don't see a problem with the list.

Considering adding a Leaf to our Tesla stable

I don't think 120V charging parked outside will be sufficient for a 50 mile trip in a Minnesota winter, unless you have a solid 14 hours or so every day to be plugged in. Your battery is going to get very very cold when the temperature inevitably stays below 0F for an entire week. You might...

Lease vs Buy - check out these numbers

If you buy a Tesla you don't negotiate. The price is the price for everyone. Thus you don't have to deal with Dealership BS.

Ad Valorem Tax on Lease (especially Georgia)

Most research I have done indicated it is not deductible because it is a one time tax: https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2284830-can-i-deduct-the-georgia-tavt-new-title-advalorem-tax-that-i-pard-on-a-vehicle-i-purchased-in-may-of-2013" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false...

    Tips on selling my LEAF

Trickle charging on 120V is not any better for the battery than L2 so I wouldn't bother mentioning that. L3 might make a difference but not much. You should pull your battery stats with LEAF Spy or one of the other apps, that is the most important information for a buyer.

Atlanta - No Home Charger - Close to Atlantic Station -

Be prepared to wait much longer when there is a line for the free L3 charger at Atlantic Station, or sign up for the NRG eVgo plan. You'd pay $14.95 per month and $0.10 per minute of L3 charging and one would think the paid chargers would have a shorter line and higher reliability. All that...
