Hello all,

2018 LEAF. Bluetooth works randomly. Very annoying. I thought I saw a recall for this or a fix for this. Is anyone having the same problem? Are there any fixes out there? :x

It seems systematic on my 2019 S (perhaps bug in the power on cycle?).
I do not remember seeing a recall or fix for this. Let me know if you find any info.
Bluetooth is able to connect about 70% of the time. I have isolated this issue to the LEAF and not bluetooth device. When Bluetooth does not work it requires powering the car off then on. Power cycling the audio equipment alone does not work.
It seems an issue on some from what I have gathered, but perhaps not enough to be recall worthy since it sort of works and isolating the issue may be difficult.

I, too, am having this issue on a 2018 S: Bluetooth pairing with phone for hands free calling and music only works 50% of the time. You have to power cycle the car to get it to work. Would love to know if there is a fix.

I had the same Bluetooth connect issue with my 2018 S. After power cycling the car now for 6 years and often getting stuck when traffic light turns green and I didn't wait long enough before restarting and then you have to push power button again....I had enough of that and now figured out a fix: Reset radio via a fuse bypass switch, It's not hard to do: The 10A audio/radio fuse is on the driver side, left to dash button that opens the charging lid. Driver door needs to be open to open the driver fuse compartment. Pull out 10A radio fuse and insert this bypass switch:

Drill a hole somewhere in the dash to mount connector.

Now, you can just flip the switch to reset the radio without stopping the car! And that resets the Bluetooth connection with a chance that this time it works. If not successful, toggle again!

2018 Leaf uses 'low profile mini' fuses and I only could find the bypass switch for 'mini' fuses. It works though and some car manuals seem to state that a 'low profile mini' fuse can be replaced with a standard 'mini' fuse. Technically, the low profile fuse has higher 'interrupting rating' or 'I.R.' with 1,000A at 58VDC, and mini only has 1,000A at 32VDC. But that's still plenty and other cars only use 'mini' fuses and no 'low profile'. Keep in mind car voltage is only 12V!

And here the comparison of 'low profile' vs 'mini' fuses:

Great idea. Thank you!

I finally installed the fuse bypass switch today, and it works great!
Now, I'm also curious: has anybody been successful in getting the Nissan dealer to fix this problem under warranty?
