Range issues aside, and assuming most of us are smart enough to go lightweight rims and maybe only 1 size wider at most...the logic goes like this:

If you are leasing your car, after 3 years, your car must retain at least 4/32 of tread depth at lease turn in. If not, you'll be buying new tires you DON'T get to use anyway as the cost of new tires is added to your lease return fees. At DEALER RETAIL PRICES BTW!!!

So, if you were looking for motivation to do so, now you have it!!! Go ahead, shop for those wheels/tires. Prob want to keep your OEM wheels though for when you turn in your car, then you can sell your aftermarkets when you turn in your Leaf, or put them on your next Leaf! ;)

Does anyone know how much tread depth the Ecopias start with?

NVM, found it on TireRack: 10/32
