I loved reading your narrative. We saw this map and thought we might try this for spring break.

Nice write-up. I enjoyed it.

Lots of people seem to consider the prospect of catering to the needs of a short-range EV on a long trip to be a fate worse than death. Others such as yourself find it to be an enjoyable adventure. I'm sure in not too many years we'll all be enjoying EVs that will have reached the point where range is no longer a worry, and purchase over an ICE car is a no-brainer. But still, I'll look back on my LEAF days with fond memories.

Hi r1234567,

I'm glad you enjoyed the write up. The bottom half of that route is what I drove: from St Louis to Lincoln. It was a lot of fun and will be a lot easier once the fast chargers are installed. I wrote to the mayor of Carllinville thanking her for letting me charge there and she replied that they had been selected as the site of a fast charger but the state had not released the money yet. She was excited to be getting one. If you do take the trip I think your have a great time especially if you treat it as an adventure.

I'll post if we end up on a trip like this. I'm up in the Chicago suburbs and my daughter hasn't ever ventured south of I-88.
