CleanTECH San Diego is hosting an Electric Vehicle Showcase on Thursday June 9 from 4:00-7:00pm. We're going to have vehicles from SDG&E's EV "FLOC" (First Leaf Owners Club), Nissan Leafs, Plug-In Priuses, Chevy Volts, and some converted vehicles on display. Danny Sullivan, 1985 Indy 500 Winner and EV enthusiast, will be our keynote speaker.

I wanted to reach out to other EV enthusiasts to see if you would interested in joining us for this event. It would be great to be able to get the perspective of current Leaf owners. For more details and registration, please visit: http://bit.ly/jZ8oRa

If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected]

Why are you hiding your URL? A lot of people, like me, won't follow anonymous links. Can't find any real info at cleantechsandiego.org, either.

My perspective is $60 is too much to pay to tell people about my Leaf ;) Thanks though!
And as entertaining as you undoubtedly are, it's also a lot to hear you talk about your LEAF. I get that they have to pay for the venue and all, but if they can't get the ticket lower than that, they should have punted to a lower cost location.

Thank you all for the feedback. To answer your questions:
- I didn't mean to be deceitful in masking the URL. The direct link is http://www.ctsd.eventbrite.com. We use bit.ly in order to track number of clicks and to see what medium brings in the most interest. It's a marketing tool that is becoming widely used, especially with twitter users.
- Unfortunately, I have no control over the prices of the tickets. This standard entry cost covers renting of the LEED certified venue, food and beverage. Students and CleanTECH San Diego members are extended special discounts. Our prices are based on standard industry prices for non-profit events. Furthermore, as a non-profit, we do not have the resources to underwrite the cost of admission.

I've read the description, and pricing, twice.

If I'm going to pay $60 per person to attend a three hour event, it has to be informative, charitable, entertaining or delicious. It's not clear that I, as a daily Leaf driver, would get a lot out of attending. Maybe you're interested audience is someone else? Someone on the fence about buying an EV or starting an EV-related business?

I already "get it", have nothing to sell to those in the industry, and only a passing interest in Indy500.

Contrast this with the E-Mobility show in Downtown Encinitas tomorrow (May 26). It includes a film screening, panel discussions with ECOtality and others, and an EV car show. Price to attend: $0
