I bought my Leaf used, in March 2014 and I've just discovered that we don't have the key to the locking wheel nuts.

Our local Nissan dealer has offered to replace the nuts/key for around £40 with 30 minutes to an hour labour.

Is it possible to get just a replacement key? Does Nissan (UK) keep a record of the wheel nut key number?

Well, the way they'll probably remove them is to take an old socket that is just about the same size as the nut, pound it on with a lump hammer, and then get a socket wrench to it as if it were a normal nut. Is that something you're capable of doing yourself?

If you are, then it's just the cost of a set of replacement locking nuts (or four normal nuts if you don't go the locking route again). Are stolen alloys still a big problem in the UK?

I guess it depends whose lugs are on there.
I had a similar problem with my PASSAT TDI.

Check eBay.

If they are true Nissan locking nuts, then check below.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't have the time to try buying a replacement key as one of my tyres is borderline legal. Getting replacement nuts is cheaper than getting caught...

I don't fancy the DIY approach, as I've struggled to remove ordinary nuts in the past. So I'll just leave it to the local Nissan dealer.

In the 17 months that I've had the Leaf, it has saved me around £2,000 compared to my previous car, so I'm still ahead of the game after getting the nuts replaced. :)
