Hi!
I may soon be part of a three-LEAF "hand-me-down" chain initiated by a friend who's replacing her nearly-new MY2012 LEAF with a '2013 (seems rash to me, but she feels she needs the leather seats for improved resistance to dogs). If the complicated transactions go through, I'll very likely be selling my 2011 to a friend or relative in Washington State (I'm an Oregon resident). Can any of you Washingtonians explain what the recipient can expect by way of taxes and licensing fees? I understood that for a new EV purchase, WA state sales tax is waived, and I remember when I handed down my old Eclipse to a nephew in Washington that the licensing fee amounted to the equivalent of paying sales tax all over again. So, if there aren't any sales taxes on them, does that mean that licensing fees are significantly lower on EVs in Washington?
Thanks in advance...
