I have a new 2020 SV Plus that does well in the snow. This week has seen a lot of snow and ice and it builds up in the fibrous wheel well lining, especially in the rear. I can hear it grinding as I drive. I thought I would just knock it out, but with the ice it’s pretty tenacious - AND when I did tear it away from the wheel well, I saw that there’s an electrical lead just inside the well that was exposed and could be damaged if the ice encapsulated it and the snow/ice was torn away either from me or normal motoring.

Is there any treatment for the this type of wheel well lining to keep the snow from freezing on to it? I know that it’s properties must be designed with sound abatement in mind, so I don’t want to mitigate that with something like a chemical treatment that could alter it.

Thank you for your help. Enjoying the forum.
