I made a video yesterday due to a question on the Oregon Electric Vehicle Association mailing list on how the Shorepower EVSEs function and some basic troubleshooting. It's receiving a fairly good response and even is starting to be passed around on the local utility provider's internal mailing lists (Portland General Electric)... I might have to start making some more videos! :D

Always nice to see public charging stations that are working (and non-paddle units!). Nice video.

Is it free???? What the heck. Where can I find these in san Ramon, ca
The Shorepower unit I was using is free to the public to use (so far, all are in the Portland-metro area). I would recommend using the Recargo website to find charging stations in your area.

If you need to disconnect prior to the charge completion, how do you "STOP" the charger prior to disconnect? AV and CC units have a “STOP” button. On Coulomb, you re-scan your card.

With J1772, depressing the lever to remove the handle "stops" the charging. You can do the same on any other unit, with the Coulomb you'll get a message that charging has been interrupted as a "feature."

It is not necessary for any reason to press a "stop" button prior to removing the J1772 nozzle, it's there for if you wish to stop charging without removing the nozzle.
