Does the 2019 Leaf have less headroom for the rear passengers when compared to 2017 Leaf? Did they raise the seat to accommodate the bigger battery? Not talking about the plus trims.
Head room for the passengers in the back seat of Leaf?

It doesn't seem so. Based on the specs from Nissan, cars.com, and similar sites, I see rear headroom as 37.3" for the 2017, 2018, & 2019 models.
The Gen II Leaf 40kwh pack is only a few mm taller. They just filled the existing air space above the pack on the Gen I to accommodate it.
