The wife pointed out that the AC is loud from outside and she is right
I live in Florida so I use it every day and it is much louder than when I first got the car
I have had the Leaf for 6 months and nearly 10k on the clock has anyone else noticed this

You might check your cooling fans. I think somebody on here reported something similar a few months back and turned out to be a pine cone stuck in one of the fans. The cooling fans come on anytime the A/C is running.

The electric parking brake is kind of loud, too. At least, it seems loud from inside the car.

Yes, that thing drives me crazy on the freeway!

Funny you mentioned it I thought the A/C was a little loud outside the car as well - also like something has changed. Maybe we should all check for pine cones.

I'm very happy with the way the A/C works otherwise though... handling the FL summer quite well, which was a question mark when getting the car.

Many times it is hard to distinguish his fantacy from
his occasional helpful words of wisdom.
If it seems questionable in some way, it is usually his "humor".

Once you realize that he is often "joking", you can almost visualize
him riding on the hood of his LEAF down the freeway, with
his ear to the hood listening for strange sounds. :D

But, basically a good, well-intentioned guy, I suspect!

Is there a LEAF you can compare yours to? A local LEAF? At the dealer?

That guy is nuts for sure! Too much electricity in the brain.

 As I learned early on at this site, Sarcasm doesn't translate well into text. Now I know.

The AC in my LEAF works extremely well compared to other cars.

It does sound "noisy" compared to the otherwise silent LEAF. I'd prefer some AC noise to the sound of an engine idling ;)

Yup ... Gary's pretty smart ... lots of synapses "sparking" ! :)

The A/C compressor operates at a variable speed to match the cooling load requirements of the system. In warmer weather, the compressor runs faster (hence more noise) then in cooler weather. I don't know if the condenser fans are variable speed or not, but as it has been warmer, I notice the compressor is running faster and louder.

According to the energy usage display the air conditioning draws more power the faster the car is moving. Does it vary the power/compressor based on how much air is moving over it or something?
