The Emergency Braking system in our one month old 2018 Leaf S started malfunctioning right after purchase. At first it would just present a warning (System Malfunction - See Owner's Manual) that the system had turned off. I ignored it at first, but when the system started braking, sometimes severely, for no apparent reason, I took it into the Nissan dealer. It's been in the shop for 5 days. Just yesterday, the dealership Leaf specialist was able to replicate the issue and is now consulting with Nissan technicians to fix the issue. I suspect it may be a malfunctioning radar sensor since I have seen on two occasions a message saying Radar Sensor Blocked. After reading some of the other posts in this topic, I remembered that the cruise would stop working after the EBS warning and turn off. As far as I know, there seems to be no way to turn off the EB system, permanently. It always restarts once the car is restarted. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? I will update when the problem is solved.
I will add the build date and additional identifying info after I get the car back.
