Should I make it 38 miles one way round trip?

I routinely drive between Menlo Park and San Ramon, which is just a hair over 38 miles each way. Though the option exists, most times I do not charge at Bishop Ranch. I rarely drive under 50 or over 65.

Is the evse upgrade ul approved ?

While I share neither OP's peculiarly tone-deaf expression nor his fixation on UL certification, we should note that his concern seems to be with insurance implications in case of a fire. I don't think he's suggested that a UL mark is a cure-all.

Options for dog-proofing my new Leaf?

Nubo - I'd love to see pictures of the harness and its attach points. Indeed, my wife expressed her concern just the other day about the risk related to a panic stop with the rear seat down. The seat cover seems like an excellent choice with easily-stained cloth seats. However, we got an SL...

Options for dog-proofing my new Leaf?

Because it replaced an ancient wagon, our new Leaf has become the de facto 'dog car'. ('Dogability' was a major reason we chose the Leaf.) Typically, we lower the rear seats to give our (75 lbs) dog a little breathing room. She doesn't clamber over them, staying happily in the cargo area. I've...

A newbie question: trip to San Jose to San Francisco

We were able to charge there this morning. A security guard came over, puzzled that the charger was working on a Sunday. He had been informed that it would only work on weekdays. Small clarification on a throwaway remark I made earlier: . There are actually a few places to eat within a short...

A newbie question: trip to San Jose to San Francisco

Seems feasible if you start with 100% charge from home and get a 20-30 minute spritz from the QC in Belmont on the return. A longer affair if your Leaf is limited to L2 charging.

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

Congratulations to all new Leafers! In this thread, I've pasted a screenshot corresponding to a record of 2013 leases. The raw data reside in a world-editable spreadsheet. If you leased your Leaf in a deal that did not involve a trade-in (or similar consideration) that muddies the total cost...

A newbie question: trip to San Jose to San Francisco

Not sure about 280, but two relatively easy on/off midway on 101 options are at Silver Springs Networks in Redwood City (Woodside Rd exit) and Intuit in Menlo Park (Marsh Rd exit). I have used these multiple times and I can confirm that an L2 is always available. Both are Blink installations...

    2013/2014 Nissan Leaf Lease Information

Here's the new table. Please PM me any errors or omissions. I have also updated my original post on page 20 of this thread, in case you'd like to evaluate the assumptions behind the numbers. In calculating the total cost for Aat167 and Bradbissell, I added the $395 disposition fee to...

    Aerovironment EVSE install information

I'm scoping an EVSE install. This is a great nugget. Now a newbie question: how can one obtain a historical log of EVSE usage? It could be a feature of the meter or the EVSE unit. Do existing products include such capability? (How about the Open EVSE platform with, in theory, I could build?)
