I just noticed this happening this past summer but while driving around. It has happened twice now. The first time it started working again after a few minutes of fiddling. The second time I had to restart the car at a stoplight to get it back as it was getting uncomfortably warm in the car...
Tree sap also sometimes looks like rust and gives the car a speckled look if you park under certain trees especially in spring time. It is hard to remove. Try scrubbing one and see if it goes away.
I had that occur one summer and then it just suddenly went away. It would change pitch with fan speed which is key.
My theory is that a nut or something fell in there from the top of the car (i.e. air intakes at windshield) and was grinding against the fan until it finally broke apart. There is...
With the modified CC device in place and the heat off the GOM will initially claim a range loss as if the heat was on but after some time it starts to correct itself and reports 0 miles difference. At least that is what happens in my car.
Since you have a 2015 Leaf the following may not apply since it comes from my knowledge of a 2011 Leaf, which does not have the heat pump.
When heating while charging all of these have to be true:
The battery must be charged roughly 20% or more
The car must actually be charging (just plugged...
Rats like to climb in and chew on stuff or collect nesting material. I had one that hid in there for a time keeping itself warm near the inverter while it was charging. The ungrateful and unwanted tenant also chewed through the washer fluid lines (for a drink?)
I hope it poisoned itself but...
Got an email from Nissan saying that until further notice Carwings is free. :)
Well that's good. I am not sure I would have paid for it since all I use it for is to turn on the A/C on particularly hot days.
Now if I could use it to drive my car through the parking garage and pick me up James...
I did a 70 mile commute for a couple of years in my new Leaf using L1 charging at work (sometimes) and L2 at home. I only rarely used L3 when running additional errands or in the winter months. You car may have enough range to make the commute without any L3 especially if you always plug it in...
More and more Leafs appearing in the DFW area. I see at least 1-2 a day not including my own. I see a Tesla about once a month so it is still a rare treat!
I have noticed that all the ICE owners go up to the Leaf owners to inquire about their ride
...but they are not available because all the...
As others have said, I wouldn't worry about the 80% thing because it turned out to be a waste of time for the most part. They only reason I still do it is habit and the fact that I do sometimes leave the car sitting for a few days at a time. With that in mind if you plan to leave the car sitting...
There is a lot of information about the climate control system in http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=7743" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
To answer your question the only way practical way to do what you want is 15 minutes of A/C via remote control in Carwings.

GEICO was far less expensive for me. Of course I came from State Farm which wanted about 2x the money for the same insurance plan, and I am not in California, so I sure it is all relative.
Happy so far. Never yet had to file a claim, though.
We have a nearly identical commute! What you can expect is that (assuming a new Leaf/pack) the first 2 years you will easily make this distance with 15-20 miles to spare. (You can even run off 80% charges initially.) Starting around year 3 or 4 (perhaps year 5 for you because you are in a better...
For the record if anyone is considering Michelin Defenders, I have replaced my nearly-bald Ecopias at 22k miles with Defenders and so far my observations are:
Traction: excellent grip--better than Ecopias!
Efficiency: slightly less perhaps but I am also up against a changed commute and battery...
I think I'd pay to see that.
What happens when it hits 100? Does a politely worded letter get sent to Nissan along with an enclosed envelope for their equally polite but pointless refusal to acquiesce?
It's probably the same lawyers that insisted on the OK-to-use-my-car button.
Nissan...
