    1 Year "Battery Check" Results

The approach might be 'wrong' for most, but the approach won't impact the fact that 14% reduction in battery capacity might not show up on the 'count the bars' method. That fact would remain even if I never drove the car ;) I figure that real-world testing is the best way to show the EV haters...

    1 Year "Battery Check" Results

:) - I have been 'stress testing' the system also doing 100% charges 100% of the time, and plugging in right when I get home. I figure most people are basically lazy and will drive/charge this way unless there is a HUGE difference in performance. I have seen enough people doing the '80%...

Good idea Gary - I will ask when I have mine done on the 18th at Beaverton Nissan...

    Am I the first?

Looks like Portland Leafs are accident prone! I had a collision on Friday on my way to work. Car in the right lane scooted over right in front of me, then braked! I slowed and then pulled to the right to avoid hitting them, and ran into another car that was there. Thought it was clear to the...

I do tend to enjoy a faster freeway speed than that, but even all local non-freeway miles I am getting 60 miles. Nissan testing didn't reveal any issues at the 7500 mile check up (although I am at 6300). Yeah, I drive with the window down or partially down. Typically open a back window a bit...

100% charge. Maybe I should not be charging to 100%, and maybe I should be waiting after I get home to charge later, or set the timer, but the way I figure it, most people (average citizen) are not going to want to spend extra time 'messing with the doo-dads' and will just take the avenue of...

Been a while since I posted here (Portland group). I am wondering what other's realistic range is that live in SW or also have a 'slightly hilly' drive. I am commuting mostly, 30-45mph, but some freeway (to Tualatin for music at the C.I. every weekend!). I am getting pretty much dead-on 60...

    MyNissanLeaf.com license plate holder

:) Love that too!! The plate holder actually came at the perfect time. My front license had been bent last week and I was just about to order one for the front.

    MyNissanLeaf.com license plate holder

And that is why being an 'early adopter' to support this forum was a great idea. Thanks!!!

    Am I safe or screwed?

Hmmm.... I wonder why my response would be different from everyone else here. I drive ECO mode, my Guess-o-miles/kwhr tells me I am averaging 4 miles/KwHr, but I am invariably getting 60-65 miles per charge, based on hitting around 30-32 at 6 bars remaining. Trickle charge or 240 charge, no...

Dumbest thing someone has said to you about your Leaf?

A guy who drives a big truck told me when I mentioned my electric car 'yeah, but I heard they actually cost a lot more in electricity than I spend in gas!' I was almost speechless, but not quite :)

    L3 Charging ?

I don't think that's right - the car won't stop the charging at 80%, and neither will the charger - at least if the one in Portland is an indication of how the others will work. It just pushes the juice in at a lower rate the closer to 100% you go. I haven't tried all the way to 100% yet, but...

Welcom Ben errr... eminus ;) It definitely is disappointing that the dealer's lack of a sales person at the moment of deliverance will hinder your EV fun a bit longer. From my experience the frustration and waiting is all worth it in the end. 5 months in and I am still blown away by how much I...

    Box 'o blink swag

Got mine today - nice schwag! Rain jacket and tee are the perfect Oregon combo :) I had forgotten about the call I got asking my shirt size - happy to see the right size arrive...

Did Wayland get to drive your LEAF? I took him on a test drive and had promised him he could take it for a spin soon, but that was many months ago, and time has gotten away from me. Ah, well...

    Cost to charge?

Sorry, been spending more time on other things and haven't payed much attention to the forum lately, but thought I would give another update. Gas went up, my cost to drive went down: 2 more months, another 1500 miles. I have averaged 3.5mi/kWh these last 1500 miles, so at $.123/kWh that...

    Blink outdoor?

Outdoor install mods: These show the cover that I put over mine - not to protect it from the weather, but to protect the outdoors from the bright LED light ;)

How do you talk about your LEAF?

The typical question I get is 'how do you like it?' I respond with 'I don't - I LOVE IT - absolutely 100% satisfied after nearly 3K miles'. Any other questions often include cost to drive. 'I paid 4 cents per mile in Jan & Feb with the heater running' is usually enough to sell them

    Missing part?

Here in Portland we just put a bird on it and call it good :)
