    Some disappointments

My local dealer offered to swap me out of our 2014 SV into a new 2016 SV with some modest monthly savings on the lease payment. What could possibly go wrong? Just a few things: 1. The 2014 had LED headlights with automatic switch, and fog lights. The 2016 has none of this, and the...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

This is helpful, thank you. I assume the brighter halogen bulbs consume more power, but that isn't much of a concern for us. Unfortunately, no DRL's, no AUTO switch position on this car as equipped.

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

We've been driving a 2014 SV since June of 2014. It started with a 2-year lease, which Nissan Finance extended this past June for a third year. Yesterday I took an offer I couldn't really refuse: a 2016 SV on a new 2-year lease, with early return of the 2014 and a smaller monthly lease...

    NissanConnect EV and Status Reports

Since the change from CarWings to NissanConnect -- if that's what actually happened -- I'm having a few problems and irritations as follows: 1. Cannot log in from iOS App (NissanConnect EV) at all and so must try to navigate the web page from my phone to turn on cabin heat, start charging...

CARWINGS changing to Nissan Connect EV - ONLINE NOW

Update: I'm in pretty much the same position as the previous poster. The car has accepted the PIN and PASSWORD that Nissan generously provided (good thing I wrote them down -- had to enter multiple times, and I can no longer seem to get back to the page where they were on the website). But...

CARWINGS changing to Nissan Connect EV - ONLINE NOW

All good now -- last night I couldn't connect and the Owners section said there was a discrepancy with my car's VIN. But over night it reconciled that and connected. Now to see if the iOS app works too . . . .

CARWINGS changing to Nissan Connect EV - ONLINE NOW

And this is completely baffling: "NissanConnectSM EV PIN and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) do not match Your NissanConnectSM EV PIN is no longer associated with the VIN in our records. This may be a result of entering your NissanConnectSM EV PIN and Password in the navigation system of a...

CARWINGS changing to Nissan Connect EV - ONLINE NOW

Quote from desiv: "Just for clarity, the "ID and password" you mention are the PIN (for user) and password you got once you logged into the new website and accepted the terms of agreement?" Question for desiv: The sentence above makes it sound as if a PIN was set up for you by the web page...

CARWINGS changing to Nissan Connect EV - ONLINE NOW

Very vexing today. Moving to the Nissan Owners portal means I have a new login (I was asked to use my e-mail for this) and password. Now, in the car, following the step-by-step instructions above, the car will not accept the last character ("m") of my e-mail, which is [email protected]. So...

    Carwings

Thanks again for both your patience and your help. I didn't know about the need to connect the car from the car end; so I have that yet to do. That's probably why the (now apparently available on the App Store) iOS App isn't working for me.

    Carwings

Thanks. I don't spend much time here; I came looking for help, which has been kindly provided once desiv understood my problem. I was a little short with him, a reflection, I guess, of being annoyed by the whole (to me entirely unnecessary and needlessly clumsy) switchover.

    Carwings

Thanks. It's a very long thread with a lot of irrelevant discussion about 2G. I am able to long into the Nissan Owners Portal. The problem I am having is with the new Nissan OwnersConnect app. It doesn't. Newly downloaded iOS version.

    Carwings

Your responses seem offensively patronizing. If the Nissan portal were working for me I wouldn't be here complaining. It's not.

    Carwings

That link is not helpful as long as the new portal isn't working properly.

    Carwings

Nice transition, Nissan, from Carwings today. 404 Not Found is always the way to go.

    creep

Hybrid cars creep too. It's normal and expected behavior for a modern car. There are a few cars, like ICE BMWs that have an "Auto-H" feature that applies the brakes automatically at a stop, and releases them automatically with an accelerator press. But it would be a bad and dangerous practice...

Anybody got the Nissan's free charging card?

Mine came in the mail today. Bought the car 6/13 at Gladstone Nissan in Oregon.

Deciding btw 2015 Leaf SV vs SL

It's not easy to find a nice car with cloth seats. That was the draw for me in the SV. Mine seems to have everything else that might be on an SL (except the solar panel): QC, Bose, top view, LED headlights. My only wish for the car is DRLs -- I can understand that they would cost something...

Anybody got the Nissan's free charging card?

Bought June 13. No card yet. Dealer (Gladstone, OR) says it will be mailed by Nissan. No indication when.
