    Unlocking doors with CAN?

Oh! I have a cooler idea! If you can control shifter, steering and brakes via CAN you can Build remote-controlled Leaf! Big boy RC car!

How to remove backpack from trunk

Not sure what black mat you have underneath... Can you attach a photo? I have just a carpet over metal frame in the trunk. The hook for charger has an opening towards the front of the car, so you have to push the charger bag loop towards the front of the car to take it off.

Permit needed for EVSE if using existing dryer outlet?

You don't need a permit if your current EVSE has a plug that plugged in into existing outlet. But if electrician actually replaced the circuit that fed the outlet with the circuit that now feeds hardwired EVSE (no plug and no outlet anymore) in such case permit would be most likely required.

Leaf Spy and Leaf Spy Pro

On settings lost it seems I lost it between 1 beta update and kept it with other 2... The only difference was that I launched the app right after update away from leaf when I lost the settings, then when connecting to leaf it asked about chosing new bluetooth connection and after that all...

Leaf Spy and Leaf Spy Pro

More feedback on brake screen/latest beta. After updating to the latest stability improved for brake screen, I can now routinely drive with it enabled. 1. All custom settings are reverted to defaults after updating. 2. The status line feels unequal for accelerating/braking: when braking you see...

Would you still have gotten a Leaf if....

Yes, I would buy it with no hesitation, but it does not seem like it's going to be discontinued... Nissan execs are talking about improvements up to 2016 and further: http://insideevs.com/nissan-exec-reliable-125-miles-of-range-coming-to-leaf-by-2016/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return...

Leaf Spy and Leaf Spy Pro

For me it is still there, selected in the list. The screen is updating for couple of mins then stops. Another thing that I noticed is that there's no visible representation of regen. It shows battery consumption, breaking distribution, but if you are not pressing on brake there's nothing...

I'll test it later today, but one disappointment is ALL settings are gone after installing latest beta version. Lost custom colors/alarms/mi/kWh, etc

Unexpected factor in locating your home EVSE

What kind of door do you have??? When my spring broke I was able to open it with my bare hands. Yea, it's heavy like hell, but not unmanageable... When I was calculating spring replacement it put ~60lbs in down position (without spring), but many humans can lift more :) At worse you should be...

On #1 played with the waring. Yes, clearing the pressure warning resolved it! But I found another confusing weirdness with it. If you enable 5th service screen, if you have the TP warning, you can still scroll to it, and it does not come back to page 4, but if you scroll to any other screen, it...

Leaf Spy and Leaf Spy Pro

Not sure if it was reported before, On latest beta version (running on Galaxy S3) I have 2 major troubles: 1. I seem to be stuck on page 4, any attempt to swipe left or right return me to page for after about half a second - I swipe, next page shows up and then app returns to page 4 by itself...

Discuss data from the LEAF Battery app, and Comparisons

Can someone explain to me what is SOC vs battery health percentage? I have 86% as reported in battery health, 238 GIDs, and 95% SOC when charged to full. If I assume 281 GIDs as max, it'll give me 84% of all gids, but yet health is higher, but what is reported SOC? If it max that battery can...

my opinion on electric car after 2300 miles on my leaf

How do you calculate your electricity cost? You either drive very inefficiently or your electricity cost it way higher than average... I'm driving about 1100mi/month and it cost me about $30-35. as measured by Blink charger, and it seems to be consistent with by electric bill comparing year over...

36000 club - out warranty club...

Last month I hit 36000, anyone is interested in sharing experience so far for Leaf veterans? For me it was relatively good ride, not ideal though... Never ran out of charge, but was upset few time with not fast enough charge time that prevented me from using Leaf 100% on some days Battery state...

Gas Cans Can Can the User

They report 11 incidents since 1998... Feels like a reporters trying to find something to write about... You have much higher chance of dying from fall in the shower... But yea, if you pour gasoline from the can on open fire it certainly a gas can manufacturer's fault for not thinking about...

    tilting screen

I thought you set it to desired position (by pressing or pressing and holding tilt button below touchscreen) and it saves it to that position, and restores it on every restart, so if you put it into original untilted position by pressing tilt button few times it should remember that.

    Charging to 80% problem...

On couple occasions I noticed that my Leaf charged itself to 100% when timer was set to 80%... I suspect is it is because of the preheat or something... haven't noticed this before... Anyone knows if Leaf actually charges when preheat is on? My pattern of usage on this 2 occasions was similar: I...
