On my brand new 2014 Nissan Leaf SV model the mechanical relays that initiate the charging keeps tripping continuously when the charging timer is set. This happens only when the charging timer is set. Pressing the timer override initiates the charge fine and the charging completes without any issues. But once the charging is completed the tripping starts all over again. Actually the constant repeated relay-tripping noise woke me up around 2 am, right after the charging completed. I took this video at that time. Very easily reproducible and happens all the time.
For now until this problem is resolved I cannot use the timer, which is annoying as the battery will sit at 100% charge for much longer than it should.
It is disappointing that my 2011 Leaf had ZERO issues. Everything worked as expected, but on this I hit upon a rather non-trivial issue right on day one. Wondering if there is anything I need to check before I run to the dealer.
