hi, i am getting ready to lease 2014 Nissan Leaf SV with LED & Quick Charge pkg. 36mo with 18000 miles

Is 2014 VPP price = invoice - $150 only?

That seems not alot compare to 2013?

My dealer gave me this,

The MSRP is $36,150.00 The sale/VPP Price is $150 under invoice. Invoice= $33,987. Plus tax, title & fee's

The residual is 42% = $14,283.
The Money Factor is .00043
Down payment: $2,000
Monthly payment is $389

I think that is not right. I don't even know how it got the MSRP price of $36,150. That's even more expensive than the SL.

if someone can chimp in, i will appreciate it.

SV with QC is $34,480 MSRP. To get to $36,150, the car would either have to be an SL, or it would have to be an SV with the Premium package (Bose sound and around view camera), and the dealer would have added mud flaps, cargo cover, and floor mats as accessories at full MSRP price. You have room to negotiate on these accessories (or to ask that they be removed if you don't want to pay for them). I think he quoted you the price of an SL, since invoice wouldn't be that high since those are dealer addons, not factory addons.

As far as the lease length, Nissan doesn't offer a 18,000 mile per year lease, so that's suspicious. The dealer is probably doing a 15,000 mile per year lease, and rolling in a prepaid 15 cents per mile over 15,000 miles per year fee. I'm not sure how he calculated that. There's no reason to prepay this fee because there's no guarantee you will use all those miles.

Finally, the money factor and residual. Those figures are for the SL at 36 months and 15,000 miles per year. If he's insistent it's for the SV, it means he's made an error with the residual and is artificially inflating the money factor and pocketing the profit.

I would contact the dealer and ask him to verify that it's an SV he's trying to sell you. If not, have him give you a quote for an SV with 15,000 miles per year. If it is an SV, I would walk or run away from this dealer because he doesn't smell right.

You're missing the tax break.

If the tax break was missing ($7500 "Lease Cash"), the monthly payments would be much higher than quoted (over $500/mo).

I think the dealer is quoting him an SL with prepaid overage with lease cash applied.

I would pass on this deal or have the dealer revise the offer. Something isn't right.

Thanks for letting me know, i am glad to know Nissan does not do 18,000 mi lease. I already sent him an email about the price.

I specifically told him that i want a 14 SV with LED & quick charge pkg ONLY. As for the 18,000 miles, i do drive 64 mi a day, and i will be barely over 15,000 miles per year, also minus vacations and holidays. so what would be a better choice for me? Get 18,000mi lease, or 15000 mi and pay the penalty?

do you happen to know the residual value and MF for a SV at 36 mo and 15,000 miles?

thanks a lot.

MSRP on my 2013 SL w/Premium and Eco Design Package was a little over $38k. My payment is lower than Vic's with 0 down payment without VPP. Something is very much messed up with Vic's quote.

wow, that's a very good number. but if i am getting 18000 miles, how would the calculation be different? how much per mile extra if you pay up front?
btw, where are you located? So VPP price is $1000 off from invoice for 2014 Leaf as well?

thanks

payment would go up about about 26 bucks 295+tax. 10 cents a mile up front 15 cents a mile at the end. Boardwalk Nissan Redwood City. yes the vpp is 1000 your getting taken advantage of

Yes, VPP as well. Sorry OP, don't mean to hijack but I feel that my situation is same as yours, 36 mos, 15K mies. Just wonder how much we can save by going with left over 2013 SV since there didn't seem to be much different between 13 and 14.

Does anyone know how the calculation should be with the extra $0.10 cent for extra mile if i am going with 18k miles.

I mean where should i add the additional $900 on the Total Cap or add on the depreciation fee?

.10x 9000(3000 miles per year)=900/36

Is the residual value a fixed 42% of MSRP for 15k miles, 36mo lease? How about MF?

So how about for 18k miles annually? Will the residual remains at 42% and MF stays the same as 15k miles?

Thanks

money factor stays the same and residual says the same at 15k just adding miles for 18k which puts you 26 more dollars a month over the 269+tax
