I don't buy the contact force issue. UL listing requires temp rise testing, and poor contact force would have been revealed.

I personally inspected a number of overheating sets and found them all to have bad crimps. That's not to say that the contact force wasn't also poor, but clearly there was a manufacturing issue. This also explains why some are perfectly fine and others overheat quickly over 16A.
