With used Leaf prices dropping, I am seriously considering getting one.

I'm obviuosly concerned about the battery degradation issues in Phoenix, but as used Leaf prices get lower, I'm still considering it.

My commute is 15 miles (plus lunch)

I already have a Volt and and usually only consume 20-25 miles, but occasionally consume as many as 40.

I have only rarely exceeded the 40-mile EV range in my Volt.

MY QUESTION?

Even with the battery degradation issues in Phoenix, what are folks opinion about how long the Leaf's range will remain above 50 miles?

Should I consider a used leaf, eve in Phoenix if the price is right?

What should I look for in a used Leaf to determine how much range it currently has?

Thanks!!!!

Welcome! It might be worth asking this question in the Phoenix Metro thread. The LEAF should be safe on a two year lease there. The most degraded car tested last summer had 29,000 miles and went 59 miles from a full charge to turtle. It was about 1 1/2 years old at the time.

My memory says from reading the above that battery will only degrade if 3 conditions are true:
1. Driven at high speed (85 mph)
2. Driven a lot
3. Hot

A used car makes sense if it wasn't:
1. Driven often at high speed
2. Low miles
3. From a cooler place?

You might want to shop around for best used price and perhaps buy one from out of town from a cooler place. Although paying $600 to ship a car isn't fun.

With great lease deals though, I would suggest just lease a new one.

Seems like this is a dupe thread of http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=12084" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
