I'm extremely impressed with the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max so far. Seems like a great compromise.

In inflating tires, the LEAF acts as a pressure sensor:

Do the Pressure Sensor "valve stems" in the LEAF transmit pressure information (rather than just an under-pressure alarm)?

And, do they do that even when stationary?

While inflating a tire with the the LEAF turned ON, it would appear that they do transmit pressure, since the LEAF will flash lights at one pressure (about 35 psi) and beep the horn at a higher pressure (what pressure?).

Apparently the sensor needs to be "activated" when first installed, and the car needs to know their Transmit-IDs (or it would be reading the tires of the car parked next to you.

If these pressures are on the CAN bus, I would sure like to know where, and display them with the SOC-Meter.

Wouldn't need a spare if you had these kind of tires. Don't know how areodynamic they are though. :lol:

Thanks for that! I didn't realize they had multiples. Before I posted it I did see the GenII one was updated "Last edited by F8L; 01-24-2012" so I thought it was being maintained.

I replaced the tires on my Leaf with the Michelin Primacy MXV4 and I've been very happy with them (see the thread on this elsewhere for more details). Vastly superior to the EP422s... I've not noticed any significant reduction in "mileage" compared to the EP422s...

It is, but not as frequently. The thread in the Gen III or Gen II forum has grown to include tires for both and other cars now up to:

Prius Gen II
Prius Gen III
Prius v (Wagon)
Prius c

I think we can still consider the plug in Prius as the same car as one of the non plugins as regards to tires.

Oh, and as to F8L, he is a great guy but he is a cancer survivor and has been off the boards once or twice due to surgery/treatments so I wouldn't assume no new content past the last updated date in the first post nor would I assume his "update" covers any content in the thread prior to the last updated date.

fwiw I'm hoping to have a leaf at some point so you could say my presence on mynissanleaf.com is just window shopping. Sorry for the off topic post(s) if anybody thinks I've wondered/wandered too far.
