I use the EVSEupgrade permanently mounted in my garage. There really isn't anyplace I could plug-in in my travels, so I feel no need to drive around with the EVSE in the cargo area, just collecting dust. I figure I should get some value out of it.
So I compared the $300 upgrade to the wall mounted units at Home Depot for $800-$900, and it was a no brainer.
Nissan or your dealer have no input on your choice of electrician or EVSE, buy what you want. The wiring is basic residential work, and any competent electrician can do it.
