Now that I have my car, I can hear the noise anytime I like. :)
Really, I'd say it's pretty.. ordinary. At highway speeds, it's about the same as any other car without an overtaxed engine. Wheel noise, adjacent vehicles, and wind noise make up most of it.

It doesn't have luxury-level sound suppression materials, but it's not Econobox-level either. I rented a little Kia on travel once, and it was insanely loud at 65mph. Not nearly that bad.

At speeds 40 and under, it's noticeably quieter than most gas cars, especially pulling away from a stop. Very nice.

My 3 day old car has a sound I would describe as a 'whine' with variable pitch, depending on speed. Should I be visiting my dealer for service? Does anyone else hear this whine?

+1
It is very annoying because of high frequency.
