I was told this is normal by the dealer:

Really? No plastic protection, dirt and snow accumulating inside the wing is normal??

2013 Leaf SV, both rear wheels are missing the plastic cover inside the wing facing forward. The front wheels have both, and the rear wheel well has the rear protection. Somehow the front protector of the rear wells shouldn't be missing, or am I wrong?

Yeah, I always blast the crud out when washing, but it never really snows here. I wonder how that design choice is working for folks where they salt the roads?

Are those panels aluminum? Corrosion is probably reduced.

No, steel.

Hey, at least they gave us a drainage hole! ;)

That's absolutely horrible! I can't even imagine how much corroded this is going to get with all the sand and salt on the roads in winter up here in Canada!! What a huge design flaw this is; never seen this on any car, ever. And it looks terrible in white! I think I'm going to spray some tar in there to protect the steel before I get new ventilation holes in the rear passenger compartment!!!
