No Test Drives Till Christmas

Well, the end of December anyway, but "christmas" just had a more meaningful sound to it.

I'm in the Southeast Houston area and signed up with one of the dealers. They were originally supposed to get a demo car in October. I just talked to the the sales person and it's now moved to end of December. I still haven't even seen one of these in person yet.

I don't mind having to wait to get it. I'd just like to be able to check it out and figure out if I actually want to buy one.

I heard demos we're delayed till feb but if demos are coming in dec that would explain everyone not getting deliveries til jan....

Nissan is delivering cars to consumers rather than supplying dealer demonstration vehicles due to very heavy consumer demand. If you want to drive a dealer demo, I think the wait for dealer demos is now till some time in spring 2011. If you want to test drive sooner, you have to go to one of the Drive Electric Tour stops.

If you want to test drive before then, you will have to go to Austin from Dec 12-19

Yep, I doubt if he will get to test drive one at a dealer before Spring. This will be only my second ordering of a new car without test driving it. It won't matter about the short tour drive because I've already decided to get it.

I drove to Austin to test drive my Vectrix, and then the guy wasn't there. Doh!!! So I waited till they got to Houston before buying one.

I can wait on the Leaf too. They'll only get better.
