Rumor has it that Price will happen.

I have also talked to one 85 owner that has already done Green River to SLC via 6 without problem.
Green River to SLC would certainly be possible in the S85. But a 200 mile range Model III? That's a stretch and at the very least it would mean a slow range charge in Green River (or SLC southbound).

A Price Supercharger station would be a big help. As you might expect, I always take US 6 via Price when headed to SLC. I really like that rest stop at the top of the pass; good place for a picnic lunch.

Some of us have been pounding on the need for an SC in the Price/Helper area for a while on TMC, and whether or not that message got through, it seems there will be one there. Now to start pimping Delta (and Baker, NV - the Silver Jack Inn and Lectrolux Cafe seems auspicious :D ).

As of 3/11/15, Council Bluffs, IA with 8 stalls, and Weatherford, OK with 6 stalls are listed and mapped. Total U.S. SCs now 43/173/1,153.

Two new states in one day, although some of us on TMC are puzzled at the choice of Council Bluffs instead of Des Moines at this time. Tesla doesn't show I-80 across Nebraska and Iowa due until 2016, and Des Moines provides a shorter N-S link from I-70 at Independence with the Twin Cities though Albert Lea. Council Bluffs is an orphan at the moment. Ardmore, OK is expected to open today or tomorrow.

ievs.com article describing today's announcement by Tesla of "an end to Range Anxiety", i.e. on-the-go planning and monitoring integrated with the nav. system: http://insideevs.com/tesla-range-anxiety-announcement/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

On another front, Tesla needs to complete at least 6 more SCs to add to the 6 they've completed so far in the U.S. (in March) by the end of the month, to stay on schedule. They're a bit behind schedule at the moment, but could make it up.

In addition to the Supercharger network Tesla apparently envisions a much larger network of "Destination Chargers":

http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/03/25/elon-musk-tesla-charging-locations-will-be-everywh.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What are Destination Chargers?
There are three aspects to Tesla's vision for convenient charging in the future: home charging, supercharging, and destination charging. Home charging enables daily driving, Supercharging makes long-distance electric driving possible, and Destination Chargers provide charging at destinations owners visit and stay at for longer periods of time -- places like hotels, shopping centers, and restaurants.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said he envisions Destination Charger locations "virtually everywhere." More specifically, Musk said that in the long term, Destination Charger locations could outnumber Superchargers by a factor of 10. Musk also took the opportunity during the press conference to explain Tesla's program for installing Wall Connectors free of charge:

"I should have mentioned an ongoing program we have where any hotel or restaurant that has Model S customers as clientele can actually request a Wall Connector charger from Tesla and it will be provided at no cost, provided they put their charging location in a, sort of, prominent and convenient location at their hotel or restaurant."

This program has been ongoing for several months, Musk said.

Destination Charger locations are expanding at a rapid and virtually exponential pace. In August 2014, there were only 106 locations globally. In January, Tesla had about 350 locations. Last week, Tesla said it had reached 902 locations -- 429 in North America and 473 in Asia-Pacific. At these locations, there are a total of 1,645 Wall Connectors.

Perhaps this is old news to some but it wasn't something I was aware of.

Nissan has lost the advantage they once had with Ev`s. They should have insisted upon fast chargers at their dealers. Also provided Destination chargers for free. They should have added optional battery packs a couple of years ago. Nissan is too focused on making profit today rather than building market share. They could have owned the market going forward if they thought more strategically.

I credit and appreciate Nissan for being first to the market place but there creativity ended there. Some people do not like Musk but I think he is a genius

Nissan should have installed QCs located every 60 miles apart to allow Leaf drivers to easily do
intra-state travel, right? The extensive Tesla QC system is an ABSOLUTE necessity for sales
of that vehicle, which is not the case for the Leaf given its limited range now!

And when was the last time you visited a Nissan dealer? I have no problem finding a QC here
in SoCal at most all Nissan delivers. Furthermore, I can easily travel over 125 miles during my
daily customer visits by planning my route and doing QCs for no more than 10-12 minutes.

As of 3/27/15, Mojave, CA with 6 stalls is listed and mapped. Total U.S. SCs now 43/177/1,175.

Effingham , IL (3/26) and Riviera Beach, FL (3/21, at the W. Palm Beach service center) have also been reported open by owners, but neither are listed yet, and it's possible that Tesla may not list the Florida site, as was the case with Chicago.

As of 4/1/15, Tremonton, UT with six stalls is listed and mapped. Total U.S. SCs now 43/178/1,181.

This makes Utah the fourth state to get into double figures on SC sites, joining California, Arizona and Florida.

In order to stay on schedule for 2015 in March, Tesla needed to open at least 12 SCs. They opened 8, plus two (Riviera Beach, FL and Effingham, IL) that have been reported used by customers but remain unlisted and un-mapped on Tesla's SC webpage. Tesla has a history of starting the year off strong with SC openings and quickly fading, so let's hope this is just a blip and they don't repeat this behavior for the third year in a row.

As of 4/15/15, Perry, OK with 6 stalls is listed and mapped. The Texas island is now joined to I-70 for S85s. Denton is still needed to make it easy for 60s. Total U.S. SCs now 43/180/1,193. St. Charles, MO was reported open 4/14/15, but hasn't yet been listed or mapped, and Tesla's 'Find Us' page has been messed up since yesterday.
