Georgia has just allowed plug-in hybrids alternative fueled vehicle status. Conversions (converted plug-in Prius, etc.) must be inspected prior to issuing the AFV tags, the permit to use the HOV/HOT lanes, to these vehicles.
 
But the state still wants a one-time manufacturing fee of $25 and $35 per year for the "privilege" of having the AFV tag, which is required to use the HOV or Peach-Pass lanes unless you have the 2 or 3 occupants they require.
