Apparently (as discussed in the Tesla forum), Signature reservation holders were invited. But as someone has already pointed out, it will be webcast live. I wonder if they'll have enough capacity though.
They should have contracted the wecasting out - otherwise it would be difficult.

Invite only?
Probably - but unlike the hush-hush meeting with investors, this will be a press event.

Perhaps the Coke Bros are mounting their D.O.S. offensive as we speak?

I think they'll have plenty of streaming capacity to accomadate people. I'll test it myself at 8pm tonight when I watch the event stream! Exciting stuff!

As already posted in this thread:
Tesla Model X lands on earth TONIGHT!
Join us 02.09.2012 @ 8:00 PM PST for a special live stream of the model X premiere event.

We'll see soon. ChaDEMO compatibility seems unlikely to me. I expect the same charging interface as the Model S, which goes to 20 kW (80 Miles Per Hour of Charging - MPHC) from 240V, or 14 kW (56 MPHC) from a high power 240V J1772, and Tesla proprietary DC fast charger at 90 kW (360 MPHC).

My Tesla page isn't loading!

Me too, I linked from the Tesla Facebook page and I have a Model X screen on the Tesla site, but no link to the event. Then I clicked Refresh and got an hour glass. Oh well, there's our answer as to bandwidth.

Ok, I got a "view" button!

Edit: don't click it... It tries to sign you up for a news letter. Starting over at:

Yes, it's all those LEAF owners tuning in to the webcast that overloaded their server!!!

We've now been asked to deposit $500 with Tesla to view the stream. For that, we'll get a guaranteed option to view the event an hour from now, with an option to be the first to buy the Signature Edition in 18 months for an undisclosed price.

Just joking to pass the time... ;)

You can see some videos in Teg's tout channel.
