    2013/2014 Nissan Leaf Lease Information

I was intrigued by the 12% off MSRP ad at North Bay Nissan in Petaluma and called Abel over there. It turns out he owns a Leaf, believes in the product and helped me with the numbers on the 2014 I got from Duarte Nissan (see post above). At the time Abel only had 2015 models and told me to jump...

    What oil subsidies?

RE: Military aid to OPEC. Let's remember that after Lyndon Johnson's Great Society and Vietnam war, the U.S. was printing money way too fast, and as the reserve currency (Bretton Woods 1944), foreign nations could redeem paper dollars for gold (but not American citizens thanks to FDR). The...

    What oil subsidies?

Thank you for the link to the reports. Oil companies getting a tax deduction for a business expense is not a subsidy. All businesses get those deductions. The bulk of the money that went to R&D went to renewables and some went to coal (most likely to make it cleaner). The internal revenue codes...

    What oil subsidies?

I keep reading on blogs, including MNL, about the subsidies that oil companies or oil products get from the U.S. government. What exactly are the subsidies? I need to make intelligent arguments about EV's and the tax credits we have received and compare them to the oil subsidies I keep...

Detroit 3 are in serious trouble...

OP is back. Yes, the big three have inertia going for them and a lot of idiot customers who aren't concerned about quality and continue to buy from them. The key here is direction. Nissan broke ground and has the lead, Tesla is very creative and appears to not compromise. The head start they...

Nissan is to donate 400 electric car quick chargers

That not really fair. While its true that the U.S. is in second place behind Europe, the U.S. has twice as many Chademos than any other CONTINENT, including Asia, Australia, and South America. Antartica has NONE. ;)

Detroit 3 are in serious trouble...

...with Ford's EV out, it is getting panned. Nissan will have to bring out the Infinity EV soon. We know Tesla's plan for the S and upcoming X. Nissan is showing the guts to make a serious beachhead in the EV market. They have sold more EV cars in 2011 than all others--ever (someone quoted that...

    Official Ford Focus Electric Thread

Forget the camels (Chadmo and SAE) and let's just go with the horse (Tesla). I would retro my Leaf to the Tesla plug very quickly.

    Leaf Speakers Replacements

Since the Leaf is so quiet, I was finally willing to install Hertz speakers with a proper amplifier. Cost me about $1300 and this is the best car stereo I have ever had. Most of the customers at the installer are high end cars. Well worth it.

The Nav system only has an option for Santa Monica Freeway? I wanted to get to BLVD. Luckily I had an Android/Google Maps directions. Ugh! Any updates or solutions to this?

Forbes Takes Issue with the Leaf

All media is full of lies. Conservative or liberal doesn't matter. Everyone has an agenda. Those with money will use it to make the writers write their propaganda. Follow the money. Study everything to get to the truth of the matter. Do not rely solely on the media for anything. In every news...

Should I forget about LAX now that AB 475 passed?

If I'm lucky to actually find a spot next to a charger and someone disconnects me, I might get towed. If I disconnect someone else, they might get towed. What to do, maybe just drive the ICE, it is what Gummint Motors and our Brown shirt governor seem to want.
