    Broken 120V Charger

Well I did ask my service department about the warranty first. They claimed the EVSE had a 3 year 36000 mile warranty. Why get a new one when one can repair the old one. The unit is fully water tight after my repair. All that is missing is the six plastic plugs that cap the hole where the...

    Broken 120V Charger

Thanks for all the help here folks. I drilled out the plastic screw covers, and took the brick apart. Cut off one foot of the long cable and pulled it into the brick, crimped on the terminals. Sealed all back up, its quite well designed and no sign of water intrusion, despite four winters of...

    Broken 120V Charger

Thanks for the further suggestions. After a bit more toying with it, I think its a loose cable. If I bend the long cable back on itself, a 180' bend at the box, the chatter stops and charging begins. I will take it in to the service department and see if they can get it replaced. J

    Broken 120V Charger

Thanks for the consideration of my problem. My level 2 240V charger works without any issue. I did take the EVSE cable to a dealer who told me it was working fine. The car is scheduled for a new battery under warranty (lost 4 bars at 56000miles). I will have them more fully inspect the EVSE...

    Broken 120V Charger

A very logical suggestion. I have tried it both orders. Car first and then wall. Wall first and then car. Same clicking of the relay that may or may not catch. Also tried different circuits in the house and at the office. Same problem. Thanks.

    Broken 120V Charger

My 120V charger, supplied with 2012 Nissan Leaf, is failing to charge the car. When is plugged into the car and then plugged into the 120V wall socket, I can hear the internal relay click and clack. Sometimes it will begin the charge, amber charge light is lit, and the often it will not. If I...

How long 'til 4th bar drops?

My 2012 Black Leaf lost its fourth bar after a long battle with weather related heating and free QC. I had been using LeafSpy to monitor the event. Located in Concord, San Francisco East Bay, where in Jun2016, we had two +95'F weeks. Battery got upto 120F twice with all that heat and...

Great idea Gerry, on the extension cable. I will try that first. Side note, I just lost the fourth bar at 56593 miles, after a week of +95F weather. J

    Loose OBDII Port ???

Hi I have a 2012 Leaf, and trying to get a OBDII scanner to work on it. After trying three devices, two wifi, and finally one bluetooth LELink that had a power red led light, i realized the problem is the port itself is not working. That red LED, lights up then off, and if you wiggle the...

How long 'til 4th bar drops?

Mileage +/- 100miles and date plus or minus a month. 184GIDs now, 30Apr16 55000miles. It is heating up here in the Concord/Walnut Creek area. I hit turtle mode on my way to the QC, had to be pushed 200 feet by other Leaf owner into the charge bay. That was fun.

How long 'til 4th bar drops?

I have a 2012 Leaf in Northern California, in land, hot (+90F) in the summers. First three years I babied the battery, always charged to 80% and majority of that was with 120V. Only twice used the QC and watched the battery heat, which never got above 7 bar, even when it was 110F. I lost bar...

Quick Charge CHadeMo is working in San Francisco East Bay

I called on the Blink again today about the Sunset Development L3 charger in San Ramon, CA. and the customer service operator reported an issue with the RFID tag reader, that was causing the problems. Which is odd, as the L3 read my card, took my zip code, authorized the charging, asked me...
