ICEless in Seattle : Official Pacific NorthWest thread

I'm glad they aren't finished yet and being able to easily reach Ocean Shores would be great! However, I see they don't plan on any more between Olympia and Seattle. There are quite a few now but as I said most can't be trusted. Ecotally needs to be forced to either keep their DCQC...

ICEless in Seattle : Official Pacific NorthWest thread

Has Washington State finished installing quick chargers? I still don't feel comfortable traveling from Olympia to Seattle. The Blink quick chargers are horribly unreliable. I wish there were a way we could have them all replaced with AV quick chargers.

    Time for new tires

My tires are beginning to look worn and I'm thinking that come this spring I'll be in the market for a new set. Is there a consensus about which brand and model of tires make a good replacement? :?:

    AV Subscriber Network

As of March 31st the Aerovironment charging network will no longer be free. I want to thank these guys for an extremely long no cost period. They are offering two plans. A pay-as-you-go plan and a subscription. The per session rate will be $7.50 for a quick charge session or $4.00 for a...

135 mile range LEAF? Where did this come from?

His basic premise is correct: The range of electric cars will increase. After that it's all speculation. He bases his speculation on the perceived importance of a “first to market” strategy and paraphrases part of something that General Douglas MacArthur said as support for his speculation...

    Trip Planning Spreadsheet

After taking my LEAF on a 3,000 mile road trip from Candida to Mexico and back may I suggest that you take Terrain into account? Your spread sheet will fail you going over a mountain pass or in very hilly Terrain.

Nissan To Install 500 More Quick Charge Stations

So the Tesla folks corrupt the database so their chargers show up in the right color?! And the poor LEAF drivers who trust PlugShare get stranded!

Nissan To Install 500 More Quick Charge Stations

I'm not from California but after going on the BC2BC rally last year I would vote for a few in Northern CA. Getting from the Oregon border to Redding was a real challenge. One RV park wanted to milk me for $40.00 for a four hour charge which would have cost them less than five bucks! I didn't...

Nissan Reaches Settlement in Defective LEAF Battery Class Ac

That's an interesting point. If all of the modules are degraded would replacing a few modules bring the capacity back up to 9 bars long enough for the warranty to expire? Like any corporation, you can bet that Nissan will act in their own best interest. i.e It might not be the right way to...

Nissan Reaches Settlement in Defective LEAF Battery Class Ac

The warrenty doesn't give you a new battery. If your capacity goes below 9 bars Nissan will do what it takes to bring you back to 9 bars. This is a far cry from a fresh battery pack.

    Blink QC charging fees

I don't believe for a second that it would be any kind of technical challenge for ECOtally to charge by whatever means that they want. If they can figure out that you have charged one minute more than an hour they obviously know the amount of time you have spent plugged in. Perhaps they need...

ECOtality News 8/12/13 - DOE Stops payments

Sometimes I think that capitalism needs an overhaul. The problem is that often the interests of the head of an organization are not aligned with the interests of the organization that they are running. When CEOs get multi-million dollar salaries and golden parachutes even if they run the...

ECOtality News 8/12/13 - DOE Stops payments

Yeah, the EV charging business is definitely a difficult one to make money. Maybe the CEO shouldn't have taken MILLIONS of dollars in salaries and benefits? It just seems to me that nobody is worth that much. At some point investors need to figure out that money does NOT attract quality...

An aftermarket kit to improve charging to 6.6kW

Okay, I follow that so far. But why is a isolated charger safer than a non-isolated charger? Why can't the car body be grounded if one uses a non-isolated charger?

An aftermarket kit to improve charging to 6.6kW

Let me say that I trust and value your opinion. I have purchased several LEAF upgrades from you and they work flawlessly. My trip from Canada to Mexico would not have been possible without you EVSE upgrade. Thank you! :D However, I don't understand the isolated / non-isolated thing. Can...
