Wanting to install public charger(s) in Port Townsend, WA

Not looking to collect money. Will look into the Clipper Creek option, assuming it can be installed outside. Thanks.

Wanting to install public charger(s) in Port Townsend, WA

Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula is 50 miles from Seattle (not counting ferry.) It is a weekend getaway destination for many Seattle area folks, but just out of range for Leafs and other "100 mile" EVs. Several groups in town (e.g. the NW Maritime Center) are looking at installing one or...

    2012 heated seats increasing range?

We're waiting on our 2012 arriving Dec 16th in Seattle area. I'm curious if there is any real-world experience with the cold weather package of the 2012 (seats and steering wheel.) How much less energy does it take and how might that translate into range - as compared to having regular heater on.

    Battery Pack Backup

Is there a real-world average speed that will "reliably" give you a 100 mile range?

    Snow tires

How are the stock tires rated? Are they an all-weather or strictly non-snow? I'm expecting our 2012 mid December, and on the Olympic Peninsula we get a bit of snow maybe 2-3 times per winter. Anyone actually do much driving in snow yet?

    Understanding regenerative braking

Ok - I get it. Thanks. Seems to me that if I were designing an electric vehicle, I'd put a paddle control on the steering wheel that would allow me to dial in strength of regen, from 0 to some safe max. Not unlike downshifting in current cars.

    Understanding regenerative braking

Newbie question: is regen disengaged when in neutral? Is the idea that it's more efficient to coast at high speed than to use regen which slows you down and makes it necessary to apply power sooner?

    Understanding regenerative braking

So is there a distinct point where pressing harder on the pedal reduces regeneration? And does anybody know if when pressing lightly, the total braking effect is regeneration and the brake pads are not touching the rotors? Just curious about whether they have set up a progressive system that...

    Understanding regenerative braking

I haven't been able to find a comprehensive summary of how regenerative braking works on the leaf (mine is coming in December so haven't been able to experiment.) Here's what I get so far, but not sure if it's correct: 1. regenerative braking happens when you take your foot on the "gas" and...

    Summary of EVSE options

This helps tremendously. Seems to me that one of the key decisions is whether to get something capable of 30+amps to take advantage of potential improved onboard charger in the future, or stick with something less than 20amps for current model. Does anyone see the potential of a charger upgrade...

    Summary of EVSE options

Thanks - the list is what I was looking for. I'm curious whether there is any evolving consensus on best over all option. Seems like lots of problems with Blink. It's not clear how to purchase AV directly without their install (no response to my web inquiry.)

    Summary of EVSE options

Is anybody willing to create a summary of EVSE solutions on the market with some brief summary of pros and cons of each? A bit of work, but I have a feeling it would be MUCH appreciated by expectant Leaf owners like myself (December.) I've spent a lot of time trying to do the research on the...
